Duffy: Does she ever wear ANYTHING other than a teeny strapless black dress, and other rants....

I managed to get through most of last year without having any feelings, good or bad, towards Duffy. Had heard her songs on the radio a few times, saw a picture of her once or twice, and that was pretty much it.

Over the past month however she seems to have been on TV non-stop: TOTP, SCD etc etc, and then last night on Jools Holland. And every time she has been wearing that stooopid dress (it is possible they are different LBDs but all are v short and strapless.
She, her dress, and those ridiculous arm movements to 'Mercy' make me want to throw things at the television.

Please tell me I am not alone.

I think someone should have told her that dress on JH was doing her and her legs no favours whatsoever.

So affected, so dead behind the eyes, so lacking in her squeaky scratchy voice, so looking like her stiff little dolly affectations charms are all she has. While meanwhile the 'proper' voices of Kelly and Adele just get on with the singing.

JH was not as good last night as previous NYEs. Time they killed it off. Lenny Henry was embarrassing. And who was that bloke that just said 'hootanany' in ever changing stupid voices to every question? Cringe.

I'd forgotten about Adele having to read the words for that song.....quite crapola really, especially if you consider JH was playing every tune 'blind' - I know he had the music on the piano, but he always put his mic on top of it (nearly slipped in a 'k' at the end of mic...now that would have been funny!!)

Duffy - I just dont get it.

As DS1 pointed out to me - Lenny Henry doesn't seem to have been on television since last years Hootenanny. The whole programme was a huge disapointment - Annie Lennox could have had some better songs and quite agreee about the awful dress. The "celebrity audience" were total idiots - do they get paid for going along? presume so.

Oh gawd, Annie Lennox...she is sooo in my most overrated singers list of the past 20 years. What was she doing last night? It sounded like a cat peing on a dustbin lid.

I thought it was so nice that somebody who wasn't super super skinny was wearing a short dress.I thought Duffy looked nice;she has a lovely figure.It would be boring if everyone was Kate moss.
