Hi CC.

I bet Vienna is lovely this time of year.

Lots of warm, noisy, clattery coffee houses to sit in and people watch.

Wotz, wanting privacy is fine, essential sometimes, retain a little and not let the world know too much.

It can help you survive.

As for people using computers as main form of communication, I think the whole Facebook and chatroom culture is definitely here to stay, whether that's a good thing I'm not so sure..

I personally, despite using this forum, don't like it as a means of connecting with people.

The anonymity wears thin and it starts to feel very unreal.

I like to see peoples eyes whilst chatting, see their expressions and mannerisms, but it can be a very handy way of offloading, bit like an interactive diary.

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 18:59

I also read an article recently that stated that some online forums can have a very negative effect on peoples self-esteem.

I think it mostly meant places like facebook where people are invited to be each others friends...or not.

Children particularly could feel unpopular which in turn, could lead to feeling quite down and unhappy.

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 19:03

Blogs can be good.

Inspiring and uplifting.

Some of them are just egocentric twaddle.

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 19:05

...and msn is handy if you live miles apart from a loved one.

I love handwritten letters and they're dying out.

Very sad.

CindersHasACrystalBall · 23/11/2008 19:48

I love letters...

we have nanny packages from my mum ...ds loves those.....

been to the waldvietal this weekend....

have new shoes too/// think ones

a sun

on one a moon on the other

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 19:52

They sound very unusual, CC.

How's all the family?

CindersHasACrystalBall · 23/11/2008 19:58

family.....nutty

shoes I love them

the moon and sun are metal hard to describe

mn is weird
yes...

letters are real...the ones on paper

these letters we type

whiz around the world are unreal

stop waffling.....

CindersHasACrystalBall · 23/11/2008 20:00

before I forget

have been nosing on the etsy site

need to add something to my cards...

and have done lots more sketches

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 20:04

Brilliant, CC.

Definitely give it a whirl.

You'll feel good getting your work out there.

The internet is a useful tool and Etsy is an ideal site for you to set up on.

CindersHasACrystalBall · 23/11/2008 20:04

awfully rude of me

forgot to ask how you are

sorry

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 20:06

Not rude, CC.

I'm grand.

Ds has grade 1 piano exam tomorrow.....

CindersHasACrystalBall · 23/11/2008 20:07

it is funny ds is starting to write

even though they do not teach them in kindergarten ....he is writing in English
just his name and a couiple of small words

and he is drawing really funny people//

CindersHasACrystalBall · 23/11/2008 20:09

Grand is good

dh has his big exam tommorow.....EEk

and dd has an interview on tuesday for a job next summer

which she needs as part of her school work

stress........

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 20:10

He has a really lovely, but totally eccentric teacher who told ds to come to her house at 4pm today for one last lesson before exam.

got to the house, car on drive, lights on etc, but no answer at door.

Knocked and knocked, no answer.

Went round the back of house and peeped in window, there's yer woman feet up, glass of wine in hand reading the paper.

Ah, well.

{grin]

Ds'll be ok.

If he passes, great.

If he fails, he can take it again.

CindersHasACrystalBall · 23/11/2008 20:13

yes

a second try is always good to have ...

so did she let you in the teacher or was her wine too good ...

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 20:15

Hope your dh's exam goes well, CC.

Good luck to your dd too, fingers crossed.

CindersHasACrystalBall · 23/11/2008 20:17

took me four tries to pass my driving test...

and the no sense of direction is hopeless

I think my appaling spelling, lack of maths ability and direction must be linked

terrible combination really....

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 20:17

No, she didn't let us in.

Ds thought it was hilarious and for a split second I did think about banging on the window, but I guess it doesn't really matter that she didn't feel like taking the lesson or maybe she genuinely forgot.

Anyway ....

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 20:18

You're creative not logical and analytical.

CindersHasACrystalBall · 23/11/2008 20:21

def.....no logic in me

I try it just seems not to be an attribute I have

not calm either

or patient

but I at least accept my falults...

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 20:21

Your ds seems to be settling at kindergarten.

Does he enjoy it now?

CindersHasACrystalBall · 23/11/2008 20:24

yes he seems to have a good time

means he is a little beggar for the first hour or so when he comes home

all the goodness wears off ....

he loves the English lessons...

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 20:26

Dh and I had a humdinger of an argument yesterday whilst G was over at his friends.

it was like we couldn't wait to get all our stressy, arsey little point scoring grievences out in the open whilst G wasn't there.

We really yelled and dh sort of gritted his teeth at one point and hissed that I was a hypocritical bitch,

and then we just laughed and hugged and went back to reading the paper and cleaning the sink.
