Tesco Clubcard - it's become so crap, what to spend vouchers on?

How rubbish is Tesco Clubcard now?! 😩
I used to save my vouchers up and spend them on Denby, but they’re no longer a partner. In the past I’ve also used them for jewellery bits, but that doesn’t seem to be an option anymore either.
The choice of rewards seems so poor now, unless you want a magazine subscription or to have your car washed.
Or am I missing some really good options? I’ve got about £80 in vouchers, so it’s not exactly life changing money, but I’d still like to spend it on something nice rather than just use it against the weekly shop.
What are you all spending your Clubcard vouchers on these days?

We have used them with hotels.com, railcard, Alton towers, London eye

Couple Railcard if DH are planning a train trip (rarely)

RAC membership if I need it, current car has free cover though.

If my vouchers are about to expire I tend to just use them on my weekly shop.

I don’t use Tesco much anymore, just use for nice stuff

I use mine for the more expensive days out with kids that I’d struggle to justify otherwise. The Clubcard challenges mean I seem to rack up the points quite quickly, and as they’re double value, it doesn’t take too long to get the amount we need! (Or at least to cover 2/3 of us)

What are club card challenges?

DH seems to use them for Disney subscription. We used to use them for chain restaurants- good for young kids. Used them for Butlins before but never again!

It's certainly a long way from the days when you used to get 4x the value on so many things, including towards my Open University degree!

15 years ago or so I walked out of Tesco with about £400 of cat food after quadrupling my vouchers to spend on pet supplies. Literally emptied the shelves, got followed by security and nearly burst the suspension on my car 🤣.

Good times. Funnily enough they never run that offer again 😳.

They pop up every now and again, sometimes 3-4 times in a row. Basically spending challenges based on your spending e.g spend £25 on Fairy and get £5 in clubcard points. You pick from 10, have about 6 weeks to complete it and get a max of £50 (which would usually be about £5000 worth of spending I think!).

Becuase it’s linked to your usual purchases it’s often things you’ll be buying anyway, so don’t find I ever spend more just to get the reward! It means that usually after about 6 weeks I’ll have got an extra £50 on points, or £100 to take the kids to the safari park or something!

Some years ago I bought this gorgeous gold necklace with a tiny pearl in H Samuel for my mum - she still wears it! I think it was also 4x value at the time.

Just RAC membership here. When the kids were younger we went to castles, museums, safari parks etc. Last year I bought RHS membership and didn't use it once!

I save mine up all year and put it towards the Christmas shop. You really don’t get so much value from the vouchers these days, I agree.

We do the same. We got tesco club card and sainsbury nectar. We save the points all year and it usually pay off our xmas shop!

I've just looked at that but it says : "Sorry, this Reward Partner isn't available." 😕

We tend to use ours for a chain restaurant meal out. We went to pizza express last Christmas and to ?zizzi/ask when we were last in London.

SinicalMe · Yesterday 20:51

I used mine towards my EasyJet holiday recently. I can’t remember if it was 1:1 but was pleased to have a few hundred quid off my holiday.

MountainofWashing · Yesterday 20:52

The problem with a lot of the meals out, holiday companies etc is that it excludes other offers and can't always be used on full amount so doesn't make much difference.
We've done railcards for teenager. Also Fitbit

I'm trying to work out the Virgin Red thing and it's worth the faff - there seem to be more options to pick from there...

Use them off normal shopping and spend the £80 you didn't spend on groceries on something nice from wherever you want. No faff needed.

I used to get Denby too, I’ve got some lovely cake forks. I’ve struggled to find anything I want but decided to settle on a magazine subscription BUT I want to make sure it’s an actual magazine, not a digital version but I couldn’t get any sense out of the Tesco Help bot. Does anyone know?

whatsnewbuttercup · Yesterday 21:16

Is it straightforward to convert to Tesco shopping vouchers? I’m not very tech savvy.
