Dd1 (about to be 17) is very particular. They cannot feel sweaty. They must be machine washable. They need a substantial sole you cannot feel the floor through. I doubt get feet will grow now so happy to spend a bit.

please tell me about your non awful slippers and dd2 and I are happy with fluffy ones from Tesco’s 😂

I like proper wool lined slipper boots (so none sweaty), and soles that don’t collapse. Couldn’t find any last year so bought some chocolate brown Ugg style boots from TK MAXX last year.

they are indoor only and are still just as good this year. Would highly recommend.

Another vote for Mahabis, but check before ordering as some aren't washable.

Auswooli boots (like UGG). Super warm but not sweaty as they are real sheepskin. Not sure they are washable but don't smell yet. I do usually wear socks though.

If you get cold feet I find a thick sole plus ankle coverage makes a huge difference.

I have fitflop slippers which are fab but have recently bought a pair of crocs to wear as slippers. I love them. So comfortable.

I like these. I wash my slippers every week as I've got sweaty feet.

Sleepers. Had a pair for 5 years and still going strong. Don't make your feet sweat nice sole so you don't feel everything on the floor and gorgeous desgins

Mahabis

Fast800goingforit · Yesterday 20:42

I have some from Skechers which I have successfully washed in the machine several times. Also some much cheaper ones for about a fiver from Sainsbury's which also washed well.

Marmite27 · Yesterday 20:44

Sketchers, it’s like stepping off a step when I take them off though!

Moshulu but not washable. Very comfortable and proper soles. Or Giesswein - they’re washable. Always worth looking on Vinted for new with tags.

My current pair are from Homeys and they rock all your boxes. I decided to try them after always being a Mahabis girl and I haven’t regretted it so far.

Gumbies... First pair lasted years of daily wears... And I have just bought my second pair. My husband also now has a pair. They have a proper sole (i needed them as got plantar fasciatis from bad slippers when in maternity leave) and so comfy. They are machine washable but I haven't washed them as they don't smell

GameOfJones · Yesterday 20:55

Crocs for me too. I originally got them for my plantar fascitis but I'm never going back as they're so comfortable and easy. Fine with socks in the colder weather or without when it's hot.

Pixie2015 · Yesterday 20:56

love my pink birkenstocks been going years and still perfect

UkeleleOrchestra · Yesterday 20:58

Crocs plus machine washable thick wool socks. New pair of socks every day.

GoingForAGallop · Yesterday 20:59

Uggs make great slippers. I wouldn’t be seen wearing them outdoors, but around the house they are perfect.

SpottyAlpaca · Yesterday 21:00

I wear a pair of ancient leather boat shoes. They’re falling apart but they do the job because I hate anything fluffy.

ABlackVelvetBand · Yesterday 21:01

I had the Birkenstock felt slippers for yonks and when they wore out, got the fur lined crocs, still going strong 4 years later. Haven’t tried washing them yet.

DumpedByText · Yesterday 21:05

I've got Croc slippers, I love them but they do smell after a while! 🤢

Noddyslittleredcar · Yesterday 21:07

Gumbies.

I love them. And whilst not officially machine washable, I've put ours in the wash a few times now! Just need drying thoroughly on a warm radiator.

Happytaytos · Yesterday 21:10

Moshulu wool ones, never smell so don't need washing.

Notajogger · Yesterday 21:14

I'd say definitely avoid Sketchers. I bought some to replace some other worn out ones and while they were very comfy, they were incredibly sweaty to the point where my toes were always damp when I took them off (and I'm not particularly sweaty) and my feet felt weirdly cold from the damp even when I had them on. Had to stop wearing them.
I'd imagine it might be anything synthetic would be an issue sweaty-wise, I'm on the lookout for some sheeps wool ones.
