Dd1 (about to be 17) is very particular. They cannot feel sweaty. They must be machine washable. They need a substantial sole you cannot feel the floor through. I doubt get feet will grow now so happy to spend a bit.

please tell me about your non awful slippers and dd2 and I are happy with fluffy ones from Tesco’s 😂

I can't abide sweaty slippers either. My solution is a pair of Uggs that are indoor only (my first were fake but still sheepskin) - warm, comfy, padded, not sweaty.

Same here. Real sheepskin seems to be breathable. I buy fake Uggs online. They last forever. Machine wash them, then dry them upside down on top of a radiator and the wool bounces back good as new.

The only solution I’ve found to this is to wear trainer socks or shoe liners with mine. It cuts down on the stink too.
maybe there are some on Moshulu that she would tolerate? Felt ones maybe?

Glerups. Don't need to be washed as they don't smell. Last for ages. I've always had the softer sole ones, but there is a style with a more robust sole. They might rub a little the first few times she wears them but I promise they will soften and be so comfortable quickly. https://www.glerups.eu/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21691174737&gbraid=0AAAAA9pN4mTKvC1Bhe_B5y6PvvwsmalzM&gclid=Cj0KCQjw8ofWBhCHARIsANBj4LtOwlTm9CVe_fNTmXsXnOVfBxLMDr3l1GVMfgi9yw6O7YIiQAZgz80aAv8lEALw_wcB

I have Giesswein sock slippers in a similar style to these, also felted wool. (I have ice-block feet so need the cuff bit round the ankles.) The soles don’t live for ever but you can stick on rubber soles*. Like the Gierups, no need to wash them. (I can hear posters going “ew ew” from here 😂)

*Edited: don’t live for ever = live upwards of a decade in my experience, so actually pretty much do live for ever!

Freiburg

High slipper from fine virgin wool with elasticated cuff: comfortable, warm and cosy. With non-slip, flexible rubber sole, reinforced heel and virgin wool midsole for gentle cushioning and a barefoot feel.

Muji cotton waffle ones. Not particularly glamorous but reasonably priced, washable and not synthetic or sweaty.

TeapotClub · 05/10/2026 16:37

I wear sheepskin boots, I used to buy Uggs but I feel while the prices have risen the quality has decreased significantly. My current ones are Just Sheepskin.
My feet do get sweaty in them occasionally though. I haven’t found any slippers that don’t.

Isometimeswonder · 05/10/2026 16:52

Sheepskin are the only material that don't cause sweat.
Emu or something. I love mine

Girlwithavibe · 05/10/2026 17:44

Another one for Giesswein. I bought them after a recommendation on here and don't regret it.

CrushingOnRubies · 05/10/2026 18:27

Moshulu. Lots of colours and patterns and styles. Thick sole. The bit by the heel in mine is like leather so coolish. Think there’s a sale on atm.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 05/10/2026 18:48

Another vote for Moshulu. Although not washable, and I don't have sweaty feet so I'm not sure if that's helpful!

White company slippers! https://www.thewhitecompany.com/uk/Unisex-Organic-Cotton-Waffle-Slippers/p/organic-cotton-waffle-towelling-slippers?swatch=Pearl%20Grey

They also come in pink.

I put them in the washing machine at 60c weekly and tumble dry them and they last a few years.

None sweaty, thick enough sole

CryHavoc · 05/10/2026 21:56

Uggs. Comfy and breathable and I can wear them in the house and when I go to the sauna/plunge place.
Amd my current pair were £15 on Vinted.

HappyHedgehog247 · 05/10/2026 22:37

Mahabis. I wear them every day and on my second pair after first lasted 5 years.

msmillicentcat · 05/10/2026 22:40

These are the best. Sheepskin. I know they a bit expensive but they're just like Uggs but half the price and better quality. They have a nice platform sole, super comfy and haven't stretched. I have had mine 3 years as they still good as new and don't smell. I just wipe them if I spill something on them. I hope they never stop doing them!

I love sheepskin or 100% wool felt clog type slippers for feet temperature regulation.

I have had and would recommend Camper - Wabi, Fit Flop - Chrissie, Rohde - Foggia (great soles), Haflinger (similar to Rohde), and Giesswein

Itsthewoluff · 06/10/2026 09:42

I don’t wear slippers but if I had to, moshulu do some lovely ones.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 06/10/2026 09:49

Not strictly slipper-ish, but my sheepskin house boots from Celtic - Ugg type but made in Cornwall. I love them. I’d have thought their shortie boots would make good slippers.

Incidentally Celtic sheepskin can go in the washing machine.
