I remember very well a couple of years ago when I took my then 3 year old to Birmingham Botanical Gardens. He was walking a few metres ahead of me. I glanced down to take a sip out of my coffee cup and when I looked up after a few seconds he was gone. Luckily I found him after half a minute, but I remember the sheer panic I felt, even though the area is fenced off.

I really hope they find this poor little boy soon, Healthy and safe.

Can anyone tell me if there are sniffer dogs involved? I'm really hoping they would help...?

I don't really understand what the problem is with this thread that people are determined it must be removed? The overwhelming majority of people are simply using it to send love and solidarity to the family and pray for the child's safe return home. Also to relate to how utterly terrifying this situation must be. Of course people are going to what to discuss situations in the news and also to share any updates/ information as it comes. That's social media.

Just heard on the local radio (North Midlands) that a lot of people have travelled down to help the search. I can't help wondering how many of them are doing it because they genuinely want to help and how many are doing it for attention and SM.

Wow, I've never read more stupid, unhelpful comment on here - and that's saying something!

You do realise there is a chance that someone in the family or connected to the family could read your comment. Do you honestly feel ok about that? Would you say it to their face?

EDIT- this was supposed to quote the compassionate comment upthread from the poster helpfully telling everyone to watch their kids.

I also very much doubt the parents are going to go read through a 32 page Mumsnet thread
