Fancy someone objecting to a vulnerable helpless child being front page news ffs! I really have heard it all now

Fyr · Today 15:37

It also informs all local paedophiles that there’s an unattended child in the neighbourhood. Not so sure it’s that great an idea. Particularly since much of the time a non-resident parent is behind the ‘disappearance’.

what????

I dunno, i mean an unattended child can be seen by any pedophile walking the streets. I think the awareness raised would mean parents would be on the lookout

what????

This was the reason they took childrens faces off of milk cartons in the USA.

MarilynMerlot · Today 15:51

God, what a bloody awful thing and his grandfather must be tearing himself apart. The poor man. The longer Noah isn’t found the more it feels possible he’s fallen in water, praying for a good outcome here.

I just looked up missing child cases in the uk within the last year (sept 25 - sept 26) there were 16 cases (including this one), 15 of which were over the age of 12. 12 of them were found safe and well. So I do think a missing 3 year old is a higher priority and deserves more media attention.

Sorry but there's no way that stat is right. There have been 3 missing children in my county this week alone, two were 15/16 and one is this little boy. What are they classing as missing?

So no where near hundreds ever day as pp suggested. I’m glad it’s this low. And glad it’s front page news if it helps.

Anarchy99 · Today 15:53

Fairyyqueen · Today 15:04

You think it’s wrong but would probably want all resources allocated to it if it was your child, presumably

Which is why it’s not up to parents. A lot of children go missing every year but the media only focuses on the occasional case. So the others go unnoticed. I’m sure their parents would like people to be aware and looking out for their kids too.

Winterizcoming · Today 15:54

With regards to missing children, many that are reported missing are children in care who abscond.

Just to let everyone know, I just looked up best trackers for kids and found one called angel sense, it is a GPS tracker with lots of features such as 2 way voice so you can speak to your child on it and you can see their exact location. It is also specifically designed for autistic children which is amazing! I just wanted to share that.

I really hope little Noah is found safe as soon as possible, his poor parents and grandparents must be going through hell.

I've looked into these and similar products. They can be expensive to buy and need a monthly subscription and I'm not convinced the child can't take them off. I considered it for one of our boys who's suspected autistic/ADHD but decided against it, would like to hear from someone who's used one.

My heart goes out to Noah's family, it could be any of us with ND kids (or NT kids tbh). It can happen so quickly. Whenever mine went missing I always headed straight to the water if there was any nearby. I really hope Noah didn't go in that direction but autistic kids love water. I'm praying for him and I'm not usually a prayer person.

This thread is awful.
Some commenters on here should be ashamed of themselves.

As i said in a previous comment I have many questions myself.
But right now its about the safety of a little boy.

I find am finding this more and more with some of the threads on here and i just cannot get my head around what someone gets out of posting deeply unkind and sometimes vile comments. I am sure that if they had to use their real names it would not happen. All i hope is that this little boy is found safe and well. I do not even want to start thinking about what all who love him are going through.

Rituelec · Today 15:57

I have been part of the local people helping look and honestly some comments here and social media are disgusting. Obviously Jackie in Newcastle in her armchair knows more than the detectives on the case. They do get stuff wrong I know, but they know more than the rest of us.

There really has been no sign of this little boy :(

Can you link that, it seems unbelievably low. My Facebook has missing children on it every week

You’re all going to tell me off but I’m not sure about this. I understand all sorts of things can happen I’m not judging anyone or saying this absolutely cannot happen but I don’t think I believe while leaving the park the three year old ran off from Grandad and was so quick he outran him and disappeared into thin air down an alley/path. I think it’s more likely that maybe the Grandad was looking away for a while and like what’s happened to most parents you look up and the child was nowhere to be seen.

I know all the mums of autistic children are going to say no no they run so fast but with respect a 3 year old isn’t Usain Bolt. Everyone is saying “DONT SPECULATE” but it was all fine when it was Nicola bulley and people were convinced her husband had murdered her. This is a child and I think people are within their rights to be open minded and wonder if this story is 100% accurate and to have the understandable fear that an adult with bad intentions could be involved, that’s a very natural thing to be concerned about here. Like I said I’m not judging. I too have been guilty of looking at my phone and getting distracted for a few minutes instead of keeping eyes on my child at all times in the park, I think a lot of parents have. But I’m sorry I just don’t believe that this child was seen running down an alley and vanished. Especially at 3pm when atleast in my area there are tonnes of school children and parents walking around coming home from school, and some will be going to the park.

but what do I know. the police will be doing an amazing job at figuring out where he could be and I pray he is found safe and well and the family can heal from this horrific situation

MelissaLovedMantari · Today 16:01

but it was all fine when it was Nicola bulley

No it wasn't. The speculation was vile.

ThatLoudCat · Today 16:03

It definitely wasn't fine for Nicola Bulley either. And lots of people said so at the time too.

Waitingfordoggo · Today 16:03

@jade271 I don’t agree that it was ‘fine’ when it was Nicola Bulley. It’s not ever fine to speculate publicly about an active case. Engaging in speculation privately with one’s trusted partner or friend is one thing, but speculating on the internet is a different thing altogether.

JHITRM77 · Today 16:04

I believe his grandad fell over while they were leaving the park and by the time he got up Noah had gone. It's perfectly understandable and could happen to any parent. Jade271 you're either very thick or very vile.

I believe it was 2:30 when he went missing so children still in school. The police of course remain open minded but have repeatedly stated they don't believe anything sinister has gone on and also have cctv of the boy in the playground.

Some reports are also saying that Grandad fell over when going after him.

In the days before social media, you could think what you like, you could say it to your friends, down the pub, etc.
Now though, thousands of people can read it. Is that really what you want in an active case searching for a missing child? For everyone to know that you "don't believe it"?

Simply refuse to wear them? Confused They are 3 they don’t get a choice when it’s a safety issue. Honestly if people can’t get their 3 year olds to do the stuff they need to do, what hope for when they are older?!

Have you ever publicly dragged a screaming 3 yr old along the ground by a harness? How did that go for you? Perhaps you've made a child sit in the buggy for a walk when they don't want to. Did they cry for a few minutes and give up? That's what most kids do. But think about what you would do if getting your child into the buggy involved being punched in the face, a finger poked in your eye or nostril, bitten on the hand or hair tugged hard. Once successfully in, they scratch their face, pull their eyelashes out, scream at max volume and self harm as you walk along. I'll bet you'd never leave the house again. That's what every day is like for some parents of 3 yr olds.

It was most definitely not fine with Nicola and if your going to make up bullshit at least try and be accurate about it.

@jade271

It is in fact quite possible that a 3 year old would be faster than their grandparent.

It’s quite possible for any child, but particularly a ND child, to just bolt and before you’ve caught them they’re gone.

You seem to be under the impression that there are little children vanishing into thin air every day of the week. They aren't (thankfully). It is very rare and very serious for a child this young to disappear for this long, which is why it is such a big story. 80% of children who go missing are found within 24 hours, and most of the rest are teenage runaways and children taken without permission by their non-custodial parent.

The grandad apparently fell over, it makes sense that by the time he got up he had lost sight of Noah. Especially if he’s a more elderly grandparent, falling over would have been more difficult to get back up from
