I have rarely seen such bitchy, judgemental, and holier than thou comments than I have about this incident. Honestly all you could do is have a ton of empathy for a minder who is obviously devastated and wracked with worry and guilt and parents who are beside themselves.

And I have every sympathy for child minders/carers who have a huge responsibility and I reckon there's a ton of MNers who hand their kids over to THEIR parents regularly for child minding.

There is something about a potentially tragic incident that really brings out the worst in some people.

There but for the grace of God go all of us.

Of course they’re searching water, they’d be stupid not too. They’re still searching other areas.

Nutmuncher · Today 12:27

I’m not fully up to date on the thread but do the emergency services have any heat seeking drones up to help with the search? Horrendous for his family and all involved.

Bez72 · Today 12:28

Just stop for a second and imagine if Noah's family should see this thread, now or ever?
All they should be reading is messages of support and hope, not blame.
No-one's perfect, most of us are just lucky enough not to have to suffer the consequences of our imperfections.

I had a toddler that disappeared in M & S once - I was seconds off a complete panic attack in there thinking someone had taken her. Security/staff were amazing and shut all the doors - she was found wandering round the shoe section! I have never ever forgotten those few moments of heart stopping panic. And I never went out with the friend again who was so say watching her while I had gone to pay.

Sadly, I think something awful has happened here as he would have been found very quickly wandering about. His poor poor family.

Don't know, it's all over facebook that he was elderly.

The people speculating all over FB are fucking ghouls.

rubixsphere · Today 12:31

Please let Noah be found safely and soon 🙏

EarthlyNightshade · Today 12:33

What an absolute disgrace so many people on this thread are!
You know who you are and you should be hanging your heads with shame.

I hope the poor boy is found, what a terrible set of circumstances led to this.

I think they are already utilising them as that’s why they asked people to return home to make it easier to differentiate between thermal signals.

Thermal searching is one of the reasons they asked people to go home last night

@EarthlyNightshade I agree! Fucking sickening some of the posts on this thread are.

This thread is awful. My DH and I lost our 3 year old at an event. I didn’t fall, I’m able and we were both watching him. And in a split second he pulled his hand out of ours and ran, we couldn’t see him and he was gone. It took over 30 mins to find him and he had gone quite a long way. We had event security and people around us helping etc. It is a truly terrifying experience and I imagine the guilt is hard enough for the family without people who don’t know them judging them.
I hope they find Noah and I can’t imagine how his family feel but those of you who have never lost a child need to remember that it is probably luck and not judgement/caring skills!

AutumnAllTheWay · Today 12:41

This thread should be taken down.

If I was one of his parents, or his grandad, reading this could quite honestly push me over the edge.

Noone in this country is suffering more than they are right now. Leave them alone unless you can say something nice

I mean this kindly sincerely: you’d be doing yourself and everyone else the biggest favour ever if you gave Facebook a miss for a while (or forever). It doesn’t appear to be doing you any good.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has asked if this thread can be closed.

Back in July a four year old named Yuval Logan went missing for over 24 hours in Israel. He disappeared around lunchtime and was found alive on Friday afternoon at a nearby beach, after a massive search involving police, volunteers, rescue teams and horseback searchers.

So there is hope. We must pray for a good outcome.

When I was four and my older profoundly autistic brother was six, he ran away from me, my eldest brother and my mum on Mount Caburn in Glynde (near Lewes). He ran for miles and we lost sight of him so quickly. They sent a helicopter up to find him and thankfully they did locate him and brought him back. There's an old quarry up there, so that was the biggest danger. Worst day of our lives. I hope it works out for Noah's family, god bless him ❤️

Events like this bring out the very best in some people and the very worst in others. Some of the comments on this thread are downright offensive.

Sunnibee · Today 12:49

My 3 yr old is non verbal and runs off the second you turn your head. This is my worst nightmare. Praying for little Noah and his family. May he be returned safe and well any minute now <3 <3 <3 <3

cheezncrackers · Today 12:51

I'm just baffled how this little boy could disappear! They've had police dogs and thermal imaging cameras searching for him and ... nothing. He's three years old - how can he have travelled so far that they can't find him?

Itsgoingtobeagloriousday · Today 12:51

We nearly lost our 3 year old once too. All at the grandparents house and he was playing in the garden. We didn’t realise the back gate was open and he wandered out and along the cul de sac. Luckily some nice lady saw him straight away and led him back. When we realised I felt absolutely sick to my stomach (and so awful). It can happen really quickly and then you spend forever beating yourself up about it.

Hoping and praying little Noah is found safe.

OrangeJ · Today 12:51

Trolls disappear if you don't feed them! So just stop engaging with them.

I have a 3 and 5-year-old and feel so sick thinking about poor missing Noah and what his family are going through.

I really hope they are searching all the bushes, wherever he could get into that might not be accessible to adults. He could be hiding in a "den" as my children love to do.

Praying he is found safe soon.

Kindnessappreciated · Today 12:52

I've been through this nightmare several years ago and I am eternally thankful that my story had a happy ending.
I am praying that this is the case for this little boy too.

Lemonyyy · Today 12:53

Yikes, this thread probably needs deleting. Have some grace and compassion for people who are going through everyone's worst nightmare.

I lost my son at the beach for probably about 40 mins, along with 2 friends of his, and it was the longest 40 mins of my life. Fortunately they were found playing in the grassy dunes back from the beach and had no idea of the trouble they'd caused, but you really do only need to not be looking for a few seconds for something to go wrong, it can happen to anyone. There were 7 adults in the group on that day and we all somehow lost them. We are all human, and I know it makes us feel better to go "well that couldn't possibly happen to me because I do xyz" but realistically most parents take many many precautions to keep their children safe but sometimes it happens anyway. There but for the grace of God go I, so keep your spiteful comments to yourself!
