Just to cheer myself up after reading a really sad thread.
Can you remember and tell us the best compliment you have ever been given?
Go on, blow your own trumpet, we dont do it often enough.

My mum has told me she thinks I’m a lovely mum, and she’s proud of the job I’m doing raising my children. It means so much, and I do try to believe it. 💕

When someone speaks so kindly to you as they are dying, it's something you will never, ever forget.

I told my mum I loved her the last night I saw her, her last words to me were 'I love you too, love'....a few hours later I got a phone call to say that she had passed away. I didn't know the end was so close or else I would have stayed.

But her last words will stary with me forever

Walking into the morning rush from Manchester Piccadilly, a homeless man sitting at the lights said "scuse me darling....you have the most beautiful smile I've ever seen".
Oh what a feeling.

Don't forget the bloke who was a banging dad. I think someone once liked his jacket too 😁. Seriously though, this is a lovely thread.

My funniest was the doctor (who was standing in for an absent nurse) who did my last smear test and complimented me on my beautifully open cervix 🤔

My favourite was a student who asked me out and said I had a beautiful smile. He assumed I was his age and was mortified to find I was 29, married, and pregnant.

More recently my sister in law said that she feels calm and safe when she's with me, which I loved.

Two of those compliments are lovely, I'm not so sure of the first one.😬

'You're the smartest person I know'.

Still a twat, but it's nice to know somebody thinks I'm a clever one.

So many delightful and properly heartwarming compliments on this thread.

A friend said, in front of others, that if they wanted an accurate account of something they hadn't seen, they'd believe my version. I don't embellish or make me the centre of the narrative.

I glowed with pride. As I write this, I'm only too aware that being a stickler for accuracy is within a hair's breadth of being a right twat, but there you go.

My husband gives me the best compliments; most importantly tells me I’m a great mum, he loves my eyes and tells me often, tells me how beautiful he thinks I am. Still makes me smile after 20 years together. My DS takes after him too and gives lovely compliments.

I used to play a team sport and in my first year I won an award from my team mates for ‘Players player of the year’, I cried when I received it.
