Influx of far-right posters

Slightyamusedandsilly · 07/09/2026 08:57

Why has the site suddenly had an influx of far-right posters? Almost overnight.

Is this a concerted campaign by the black shirts from Dover, Reform or Tommy ten names to infiltrate women's SM?

The bias check is for the news. That is all. I also mentioned that in an above post. A bias check is not checking Songs of Praise or Eastenders. Just the news. And that is what matters here.

And all UK TV news has OFCOM rules on impartially to follow. Rules that Youtube channels etc don't need to follow.

Re the Good Law project reference part you mention. The bias check site is listing the major claims of bias. It is not saying if they are right or wrong. It is just listing claims made. It mentions claims that Trump made. That does not mean it supports Trump.

And there is this in the report, with links

"In past reporting, the BBC has been criticized by both the political right and left. Notable examples include the Evening Standard and The Times of London."

Again, they are not saying what is right or wrong. They are listing some of the claims made.

That is how it is supposed to work. They look at the claims of bias, throw all those claims in a pot, and see what the mix looks like. Then publish their bias score.

So when you say, quote "one of its sources was a very poor choice,", no, it's actually not. It's a bias check site. Do you really think they don't know if claimants might be biased or not ? It all goes in the pot.

They gave the GLP prominence by putting their silly claims in the 2nd paragraph of their analysis. It was a poor choice.

Goodness me. I am not going to open the page again, because I think that site has limited free uses. So I am not going to waste them on going into your rabbit warren with you.

Can I ask you, in what order should they list what inputs they looked at ? Alphabetical, by date, by size of complaint, order of google search results..... ?

Going back to the clip I posted though, just to check something.

The BBC is frequently accused of bias from both left and right, but recent developments point toward a rightward drift relative to past assessments. A 2025 analysis from The Conversation argues that political pressure and editorial decisions are shifting the BBC toward more conservative framing. See: The Conversation analysis.
A major 2025 Good Law Project / YouGov poll found that 70% of trans respondents consider the BBC’s coverage “hostile,” citing years of platforming fringe anti-trans views as if they were mainstream. See: Good Law Project poll.
At the same time, right-wing critics continue to attack the BBC. President Donald Trump recently announced plans to sue the corporation for $1–$5 billion over what he claims is defamatory coverage. See: The Hill report.
The BBC maintains editorial impartiality guidelines available here: Editorial Principles. Complaints can be filed through Ofcom: BBC Complaints Process."

Ist up. The Conversation. That's a C. 2nd is Good Law. That's a G..3rd is Trump. That is a T.

So at first glance, Alphabetical. Or it might be date. Who know. Is it ok, for the sake of argument if I suggest alphabetical. Wait, where is that other clip I just posted. That was from later in the report.

"In past reporting, the BBC has been criticized by both the political right and left. Notable examples include the Evening Standard and The Times of London."

Now there is a S for Standard, and an T for the Times. Trump is out of order then. But there certainly does seem to be a bit of a bias towards alphabetical listing.

Does that make sense ? Or are you claiming you have debunked a bias check site because of how they ordered their evidence ?

By the way, did you check to see what other bias checkers said ?

Dadalus · 08/09/2026 18:15

Give it up Alan. You weirdly accused me of saying some bias checker site, that I have never visited before and never want to again, was biased. Now you want me to check with other presumably similarly crappy sites to prove some point I never made was wrong?

Its not even the topic of this thread FGS.

It's like if you'd quoted David Ike as a reference for the number of lizards residing in Central London and when challenged on the dodginess of that you want me to go and check a range of lizard counting sites for comparison.

Clavinova · 08/09/2026 18:23

tomandjamie · 08/09/2026 10:25

Oh, it's two female protesters now ?
It was one a couple of days ago.
Yet still no-one has come forward with a complaint, which seems odd if there is so much compelling footage.

I wondered if several of the protesters are foreign/dual nationals, which may have influenced their decision on whether to come forward. One protester interviewed by LBC I thought had a slight American/Canadian accent perhaps, another interviewed by Times Radio possibly Central/Eastern European.

What to say ?

I made a post, and I am defending that post. That is all. If posters decide to attack/criticize/try to debunk a post I make, but can't, then that is up to them.

And it is relevant to the thread. Because I was responding originally to a post that claimed political bias. And it appears that claim was false.

Quote " And how many migrants have been deported?"

You can look it up. Here is the data.

How many people are returned from the UK? - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

"A total of 39,000 returns from the UK were recorded in the YE March 2026 (including both enforced and voluntary returns). This is a 7% increase on the 36,500 returns in the same period 12 months prior."

Quote " And how many are left out of the thousand that have arrived ?"

You can look up " Arrivals via illegal entry routes" . It's here

How many people come to the UK via illegal entry routes? - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

"In the YE March 2026, there were 43,806 detected arrivals via illegal routes. Small boat arrivals accounted for 90% of these arrivals. "

And yes, that is detected arrivals.

And you can do the sums. Or you can let other people do the sums, newspapers etc. Because as with all these things, there will be a lag.
**

You are comparing two different groups.

Perhaps a more relevant answer to the pp's question would be to pick out these stats from your links:

Small boat arrivals in the YE March 2026 (39,271)

In the YE March 2026, there were 2,750 returns of people who had arrived to the UK by small boat.

That's possible.
I thought the one interviewed by LBC was Irish at first but now I've listened again I realise I was mistaken. I can't place the accent, nor the one interviewed by Times Radio.

The police are investigating regardless. Hopefully there will be charges brought. 🤞

No-one has come forward yet.

The Charging Tests
Before moving forward without a victim, the CPS must satisfy two main rules:

  1. Evidential Stage: There must be enough independent evidence to provide a realistic chance of a court conviction.
  2. Public Interest Stage: Proceeding must be safe and necessary for public safety, especially if there is an ongoing risk to the public or the victim.

There were lots of people present so maybe enough evidence will be gathered. Footage seems to have been released from several sources so presumably the people who released it can be questioned and are willing to help. 🤞

Hi @tomandjamie has Nigel managed to have sight of the clip of the older man with the walking stick being pushed over, yet?

@Lovelyview · Today 13:36

Whether it's bots, orchestrated targeting, or traditional mumsnet users deciding they're sick of the Government failing to deal with small boats is somewhat irrelevant. The ADF just won massively in Germany on the back of anti-immigrant rhetoric. People are dismissing those voicing anti-immigrant views as thick racists. That worked so well during the Brexit referendum!

I suggest if you really care about protecting immigrants you come up with some very good arguments for what has been happening. Refusing to debate or just hurling insults isn't going to work. Over on the Feminism boards we've been politely dismantling the arguments and insults of trans activists for years. People wander on, see the discussion and make a decision based on the arguments set out in front of them. I suggest you do the same.

@Lovelyview · Today 14:16

Are you sure it's about racism? I've seen gay men say they don't want mass immigration from cultures which believe homosexuality is a sin punishable by death. Is that racist? Do people start believing in the values of the culture of their new country as soon as they set foot in it? Or do they bring their cultural beliefs with them?

I don't have answers to these questions but I do think people need to be able to voice their concerns and have discussions without being shut down and accused of racism. For me, that's what a discussion forum is for. Actual racism is against site guidelines and can be reported.

Excellent posts @Lovelyview 👏

Thanks - unfortunately I can't view that - does it show the older man being assaulted?
If so, does it say whether or not NF has seen it?

Reform are very much not leading in the polls. 😁

To be fair, your screenshot from YouGov has Reform jointly leading with Labour.

DestituteDesperate · 08/09/2026 21:14

Where are these far right posters?

Are they the TERFS? If so, sign me up.

DestituteDesperate · 08/09/2026 21:17

Oh just saw that Reform bank rolled by Zia Yusef is mentioned in the opening post. Funny how LSE published an article about Far Right being the wrong term but MN knows best.

People opposing men in females toilets were called white supremacists and far right too, shows the only ‘thickos’ as another poster called them, is perhaps the ones showing a complete lack of common sense.

TemperanceWest · 08/09/2026 21:21

Thanks Clav. I am quite aware that I posted three polls, two where Labour are leading one with a tie between Labour and Reform

But I am very glad you mentioned polls. This is the most up to date position:

Taxes are rising, unemployment is rising, the feeling of injustice (whether reasonable or not) is becoming more widespread. More people are feeling the pinch.

It's the perfect recipe for resentment to brew, and an anonymous forum is a perfect place for people to vent.

Plus women feel more threatened by the misogynistic attitudes and behaviour of some muslims, and Mumsnet is a mostly female body of posters.

I’m worried about the misogynistic behaviour of men of all colours.

Yes. And also the working class who aspire to be middle class.

God, this comment and the one regarding the ‘Tory-leaning lower middle classes’ could not make either of you sound any more sanctimonious if you tried. Christ.

I’m sure plenty of aspirational working class folk out there don’t agree with your assertions, oh wise and privileged ones 🙄

Based on that Reform and the Tories will have to be seriously thinking of a coalition sometime in the near future if it remains similar going forward.

The sneering attitude is so prevalent all over MN.

it’ll be lower middle class, emphasis on LOWER.

Then it’ll be ‘thickos’ and the ‘uneducated’.

They love exposing what they really think of people whilst claiming to come from a morally and intellectually superior ground than others.
