You exist because you chose to experience life in a human body. The real you is a soul, and before you were incarnated on Earth you chose the lessons you wanted to learn and the experiences you wanted to encounter in your physical lifetime here. After your human life ends you will return back to being a soul.

What about babies who are murdered? Did they 'choose" that "experience'? OR why does God allow it? OR is it just totally random?

We all exist because our parents had sex.

I don’t know but it’s something I’m thinking about more as I get older. I just don’t see the point in anything. Working to acquire more stuff, or to pay for my kids to go to uni, so they can get jobs that allow them to do the same thing. The constant wars, the drive to look a certain way, the caring what other people think. It’s all inconsequential in the end so what’s the point if any of it?

Your here , so you might as well enjoy life if you can.

the God argument comes down to free will, generally, which seems in total contrast to "well someone had to do it so my soul decided it might as well be them so now I have to murder a baby / die and awful cruel death"
