I'm a great believer that 'certain traditions were made to be broken' and I think this is one that does. They can reinstitute it 'at a later date'.

Withdrawing the United States from International Organizations, Conventions, and Treaties that Are Contrary to the Interests of the United States – The White House

This is the work of one man.

Just one.

Not even King George III (some Americans may recall "the tyrant") had that much power to wield. Even British monarchs are subject to the law. Unlike US presidents.

Seeing that list whilst also acknowledging the many US environmental, health and social groups etc that he and his contemptible administration have defunded or shut down is truly sickening.

Some of DH's old friends in the US have recently questioned why he (we) are still happy living in the "failing" UK. I think I'll just send them that list, a link to the Tangerine Tyrant's UN speech and a "right back attcha".

Tangent... can I add Nigel Hawthorne. He was superb in the film.

Bloody Tom Hanks and his Forrest Gump beating Nigel for the Gong. Then again, Nigel was up against it that year, Morgan Freeman in Shawshank, Travolta in Pulp Fiction. And for some reason Paul Newman in a film I can't remember.

No doubt Trump will do an EO on that. The American Awards for American Actors Order.

" By the power vested in me, by me, Donald J Trump, the best President ever, I hereby order that all Oscar awards may only be presented to PATRIOTIC AMERICANS, pre-approved by me. And furthermore, if the winners do not thank me personally in their speech, I will take said Oscar away and put it on my shelf beside my soccer World Cup, and my FIFA PEACE PRIZE.

By ORDER, and thank you for your attention in this matter. DJT"

Don't forget the WHO. He left that. And the UN Human rights council. And UNRWA.

And I think he cancelled the US subscription to the Franklin Mint" coins of the Empire " collection. But to be fair, I think it was Reagan who signed up to that during his "problem years". And he only signed up to that because Maggie left a " News of the World" behind one day.

Reagan also bought a caravan in Skegness, thanks to that "News of the World". Not many people know that. As someone said.

Justsaynonow · 23/09/2026 17:45

Excellent substack today from IFLA. Remains to be seen if the Democrats will act accordingly.

“What happened in the Biden administration was we fixed all the stuff that Trump broke and Republicans broke in their administration, but we didn’t do anything innovative and we didn’t make people’s lives better. We just spent the time putting out fires and trying to solve the pandemic. I’m tired. I’m done with that.”

A Black Hawk pilot who left both legs in Iraq has told her own party's leadership to cut it out, on C-SPAN, in four words. Fumble it a second time and there won't be a third.

Surely a simple single EO would make the unlawful lawful ? And it's even within the scope of POTUS "offiicial actions" which are blessed by SCOTUS.

Hegsbreath getting a bit of a bashing. What a shame:

“Christian leaders HuffPost spoke to criticized Hegseth for using Scripture in a military recruitment campaign for an unpopular war and framing the conflict as one religion against another.
Rev. Paul Brandeis Raushenbush, president and CEO of Interfaith Alliance, an ordained Baptist minister and former HuffPost editor, said that Hegseth’s motivational speech was better suited to the 12th-century Crusades than the U.S. military in the 21st century.
“The U.S. is not a theocracy and we don’t fight holy wars,” he said. “[Hegseth] refuses to recognize that the U.S. military is meant to serve and respect all Americans, regardless of faith, and not to carry out Christian nationalist crusades.”
“Pete Hegseth is exactly what he appears to be: an extremist who believes that the U.S. government and military should be a tool for advancing a narrow, repressive and violent religious worldview,” Raushenbush said.
Rev. Brandan Robertson, the pastor of Sunnyside Reformed Church in New York City, said Hegseth’s “Send Me Tour” is another example of the Trump administration “manipulating Christianity to justify its ungodly agenda and retain conservative Christian support.”
“When he talks about ‘the Islamists’ and ‘fighting the communists,’ he isn’t referring strictly to extremists and terrorists; he’s talking about Americans who hold different political ideologies or belong to different religions ― people who are our neighbors and friends,” he said.

Thanks, @OnePeppyFatball, it is a pleasure to see real Christian leadership in action, talking sense, rather than those fake "Christian nationals" Trump, his minions, and MAGA like to follow. That sentence about the Crusades is particularly apt, I think.

Trump has his own fire safety code ?

Ahh, I had a look. He allegedly said -

“I Am The Code”

That sounded familiar, so I went to BibleHub to see where it comes from. And here it is

Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha, The Code. and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Trump Revised Edition)
