I did ask. But I got no answer.

Last post I saw on it had a Soros Foundation, the Columbian Government and Prince Harry - somehow connected - with a wink. I did not bother asking about that one. I just hit the "unwatch thread" button :-)

They are like snowballs.

Edit to add... they are very Trumpian. That works better then snowballs.

Edited

Ah; just conspiracy nutters, in effect. Thank you.

Trump needs a boost for the mid terms

Yep, and now his bullshit is coming so thick and fast and self-contradictory that I'm on overload with a mild case of whiplash. When I'm watching the news it seems like every other minute I'm uttering "You what, now?" and/or "What did I just hear?". What's that they say about the weather? "Unhappy with the weather? Wait 5 minutes, it'll change". I think his swinging from pillar to post is a sign that he's really scared shitless.

Do I think we're going to flip the Senate or the House? I won't even hazard a guess. All I know is that every Dem better fucking get out and vote.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 19/09/2026 15:04

"All I know is that every Dem better fucking get out and vote." Not just Dems, Independents as well need to screw their principles till the country is completely out of the Trump made mess, and vote against Republicans everywhere, even if that means Dems winning on policies the Independents don't stand for. IYSWIM?

walllaw · 19/09/2026 15:07

Why is the media ignoring his 'truth' about the democrats having orchestrated the Butler shooting?

I mean, surely that's an accusation that calls for some serious and diligent investigative reporting? Why are they not holding him to account for the shit he says?

placemats · 19/09/2026 15:09

Sounds like rabbit holes they can never escape from.

Talking of GB News 😀, it's losing so much money that perhaps some of the donations recently given to Reform UK is not going to local campaign managers but new ones are being brought in.

AFAIK this is for real.
Reveille and Stand By Your Beds take on a whole new meaning.

NEWS: The Pentagon has announced mandatory low-testosterone screenings for male troops 30 and older, including screening for symptoms such as “reduced libido, loss of spontaneous morning erections, erectile dysfunction,” and other symptoms.
bsky.app/profile/meidastouch.com/post/3mvtfubgx2c2z

The lads at my school all joked about "the pencil test" they supposed was adminstered by the nurse if they got an erection during the brief medical exam we all had in the last year of middle school (aged 12, because I went to school in Harrow).

Now I see where they heard the rumour.

I've lost any sympathy for sane Americans at this point. No one - no one - can read this and think there is any hope left for the US.

I think I posted that. TBH though, he just overloads the system. The Bannon way.

And it does work.... in the US system.

@AcrossthePond55

On the above, the Bannon system of overload. Given that every political system has it's issues, it seems to me that the US systems has so many issues designed in, that it makes change near impossible.

These midterms for example. 100 senate seats, but only 33 are up for election, plus 2 specials. So 35 seats. And many of these will be set in stone. So it ends up with both sides fighting over a handful, while the rest of the nation looks on powerless.

Now, before anyone mentions the Makerfield by-election and Burnham... THATS DIFFERENT. Don't ask me why... IT JUST IS.

:-)

There is no equivalent of the senate in the UK. That's all you need to know about why it's different.

It's hard enough to get people to vote for their MP, let alone if they had to also choose some sort of senator.

Generally democracies that lasted would have found safeguards to protect the people from themselves. If you know of any, let us know.

Well. democracy is a new thing. Universal suffrage is only about 100 years old. It is still an experiment really. And one that Trump is trying to destroy.

The Manx Tynwald claims to be a thousand years old. And it is in a way. They have a safeguard in that they don't really have party politics. It is individuals. And I suspect that is similar to Greenland. In Manx politics, the Chief Minister drinks in the Union Inn. His main opposition drinks in the Ship Inn. Take your pick (going back a bit here). But they don't elect the Chief minister, Tynwald does.

Although in Greenland of course, as we discussed on here, the Trump party is sat on a bollard in a lonely harbour, alone, waiting for a hospital ship that was promised, while everyone else is down the pub drinking Viking Carlsberg from EU sized glasses.

I don't think people need protected from themselves. That seems a very elitist view. I think they need protected from politicians who lie. But to do that without destroying freedom of speech is a massive can of worms. So I would propose accountability is the answer. That the UK can sack a PM is good for me.

That Americans, however, can't register a universal protest vote, that is not good for me.

And it's the same in America for Presidential votes. The down ballot positions are still staggered. So big change is near impossible.

SerendipityJane · 19/09/2026 16:52

Well. democracy is a new thing.

Probably best not let any Greeks hear you say that.

Echobelly · 19/09/2026 16:54

You missed out this bit of my post. :" Universal suffrage is only about 100 years old. "

Point me to a Greek and we can discuss. I get May 28, 1952 as the date when women got the vote there. I make that 74 years.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/09/2026 17:16

Yes, and some of the Cantons in Switzerland didn't allow women to vote until a lot later than that. I remember boycotting Swiss goods (with my tongue firmly in my cheek) in the 1970s because of that. There was no country in the world one couldn't find some reason to boycott, if one looked hard enough.

The Althing in Iceland dates back to 930AD, but that was only for "all free men", women need not apply. It was also not permanently in session (just as well if all free men could speak in it!) but convened once a year to sort out legal and social stuff that needed to be sorted,

Back in the 80s I was helping DF out on a Saturday at the workshop he ran. There was a customer who was Swiss (worked for Swissair based at Heathrow) waiting for his car being fixed. The radio was (as always) on and there was some news story about the House of Lords blocking something,

He asked me what that meant, and that lead to "What on earth is a Lord ?". As in how do people get put in the House of Lords.

Try as I might - and as he might - he really could not understand how people who were not elected had any say in anything. Making the point that in Switzerland you only need 2 men and a dog to organise a referendum that the government must hold.

It's possible that my lack of conviction in trying to make it sound reasonable could have been a factor.

Shocking isn't it? It is such a new thing, yet Trump and his ilk are trying to destroy it.

💯 I get where you're coming from.

I don't always agree with every piece of my party's platform, but I do agree with their over all beliefs as to what is best for the American People. But if I looked at the GOP platform and believed in it 'more' I would vote GOP. I hope the Independents and the reasonable GOPs can do the same in the midterms, and at least until Scrotus and his cronies are gone.

Many people think that the words "Artificial Intelligence" are inaccurate, and very ineloquent, relative to AI, or Artificial Intelligence. A far more elegant and accurate description of this new phenomena would be Superior Intelligence (SI) or, Extreme Intelligence (EI) or, Supreme Intelligence (SI). This is a Poll, and I would appreciate everybody voting! Which is the best name for this ever growing "Revolution?" President DONALD J. TRUMP

I think you should Google it Mr T. Maybe call it what it is. An LLM. You know it is not actually intelligence don't you ?

Saturday, September 19, 20265:12 PM Truth Social

Over the years, there have been many Hoaxes, all generated by the Radical Left Dumocrats, for purposes of destroying our Country. RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, Global Warming, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, Men in Women's Sports, Transgender for Everyone, and now, the decimation, or destruction, of AI, commonly known as Artificial Intelligence And I, as President of the United States, will not stand by and let this happen. It all began with an attack on our Data Centers, until people realized how wealthy and prestigious they were for the Communities in which they were built. Higher Salaries, Lower Taxes, and Safer Streets, was the result, and the crazed Data Center attack has largely failed, so now, in much the same way as they changed the term "Global Warming" to "Climate Change," in that it covers a much larger "territory" of doubt, they are going straight at AI. We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows! However, we will also be looking for BAD, and we can do that, very easily, with our already existing Criminal and Civil Justice System. For this purpose, I am forming the AI Force, much like I did Space Force, which has been a tremendous SUCCESS, in my First Term. To that end, I will be announcing, in the near future, the AI "Czar" Only High I.Q. individuals need apply! AI is the next Industrial Revolution, or Internet, but will be even larger and more impactful, possibly as much as 25% of our Country's GDP. We are leading China, and the rest of the World, and I intend to keep it that way! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Oh Good. An AI Czar. So that means an AI girl as well as the printer girl, IPhone girl, and ballroom girl.

Then again, you did say how great Barron is with computers. Remember when you said this about him ?

"INGRAHAM: You talked the other day about how music was your aptitude as a child, that your father saw that you had a musical aptitude. And so it’s kind of obvious in kids early on what they’re good at.

But is Barron’s aptitude, in your view, business or politics?"

"TRUMP: Maybe technology. He can look at a computer. I try turning off his — turn it off. I turn off his laptop. I said, oh, good. Now — and I go back five minutes later, he’s got his laptop. I said: “How’d you do that?”
“None of your business, dad.”"

"(LAUGHTER)"

"TRUMP: No, he’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology."
