Paul McCartney.
Don't know him personally obviously, but comes across as a greedy bastard who does fuck all for the city he was happy to exploit for songwriting purposes.
I'm part of a campaign to save a shoreline near to where he grew up, we wrote to him years ago to see if he was willing to do anything to help and he didn't even have the decency to reply.
Then wrote an entire album about the exact same area that is about to be destroyed. Twat.
Also, allowed the use of Linda's name for the cancer centre here, but allowed the hard up public to raise the £4m that was needed to actually fund it. Twat.

He did once pat a small relative of mine on the head but I will let it go. I was always a tad disappointed that he didn’t fish a fistful of loose change and virtual peanuts out of his back pocket and buy that amazing and unique place Dungeness , another place he must have taken his kids when they were little, and donate it to the nation. Instead he let the French snap it up.

Went off Monty when I learned that Long meadows is just a made up name for TV!

The house is called Longmeadow and has been since Monty and his wife bought the house in 1991. The garden was a long narrow plot laid to meadow...hence the name.

I agree. Though she's not a national treasure, by any stretch of the imagination!

Whydontyoucarryon · 29/08/2026 20:30

Not sure if they are counted as National Treasures but Alice Roberts, Chris Packham, Stephen Fry and Kate Humble

WasShocked · 29/08/2026 20:31

OOps, apologies …Campbeltown!

Tony robinson he wrote a book about his life and it was very weird the way he spoke about sex and women, hes very odd and shows if youre famous you can always get a book published,.just talking about his sexual experiences as if woman are objects and how he was grabbing at this womens boobs and he giggled like a child, made me feel sick

I've read his autobiography and he doesn't mention his sex life at all.

LondonLass2026 · 29/08/2026 20:32

Ant and Dec,

Anyone from Bake Off. A massive bunch of fuckwits. Crap show too.

Robbie Williams.

Harry Styles.

Secretsquirrel2 · 29/08/2026 20:33

Giles Brandreth- My father used to turn over.
Oliva Coleman- smug.
Claudia Winkleman- fringe
Stephen Fry- pervert
Tom Daley- smug
Jeremy Clarkson- racist bastard
Piers Morgan- sexist
Miriam M- crude, dirty looking

I agree about the good housekeeping magazine. If I don't like the cover star I no longer buy it.

EatingHealthy · 29/08/2026 20:34

I'm surprised at some who have been listed being considered 'national treasures'. I certainly wouldn't consider Jonathan Ross or Mark Gatiss national treasures, neither are well liked enough for that.

That aside, I'm another who doesn't like David Attenborough (and pleasantly surprised others feel the same, in real life people react like I've just admitted to being a serial killer if I say I don't like him)

dustabsorber · 29/08/2026 20:35

Chris Packham, I find intensely annoying, which is a real shame because stuff like evolution is fascinating. He is one reason I wish David Attenborough another 100 years because after Sir David passes, Chris Packham will get even more natural history programs.

kierenthecommunity · 29/08/2026 20:35

I’m surprised she’s only been mentioned once but Cilla Black. Plain with a lousy singing voice and literally must have been blowing all The Beatles to get on like she did. Then there’s the overdone Liverpool accent - I saw an interview with her when she was young and while she had an accent it was slight and she was actually quite well spoken

It’s also a well known fact she was utterly obnoxious. A uni friend of mine used to date someone who had a low paid job at LWT and she unused to treat the lesser mortals like something she’d trod in. He said the best thing you could say about her was that her husband was even worse

Ant & Dec. They should have been history when Ant got caught drunk driving, I don’t think he’s a great example and shouldn’t be on prime time tv.

I'm so glad to see this...if he'd been a woman he would have been crucified Caroline Flack-style. Absolute arse to his ex-wife too but she gets all the criticism and accusations of not having moved on etc, with many people seemingly having zero awareness that it's the media continually bringing her into it and whipping up fake controversy. I can't stand him. 👏🏼

Stephen Fry so sanctimonious and Miriam Margolyes - crude, smutty woman

Edited

Agreed.

As a pp has said, MM gets off with it because of her cut glass accent.

Bogstandardname · 29/08/2026 20:36

How could I forget Lorraine Kelly. She so so irritating and so so fake.

Livelovebehappy · 29/08/2026 20:37

Alison Hammond and Lorraine Kelly. Lorraine Kelly probably more so. When she interviews people she always makes it all about her. She’s got this annoying habit of finding everything she says and does as hilariously funny and endearing.

EeyoresLostTail · 29/08/2026 20:37

Rylan Miriam Margoles Rylan Sandi Toksvig RYLANNNNNN

MyDpsanarse · 29/08/2026 20:38

I'll let you have the rest but not Monty Don. He's had bouts of depression for years after going bankrupt, he's had to rebuild his life from scratch and my garden depends on him. And I loves his dog ❤

DiscoFoxTrot · 29/08/2026 20:38

Ricky Gervais
Paul McCartney
Cliff Richard
Russell Brand

I have never liked any of them, for as long as I can remember. All of them put my teeth on edge, like Jimmy Saville 🤢

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 29/08/2026 20:38

gingercat02 · 29/08/2026 18:40

Jonathan Ross always hated the slimey fucker.

I hadn't realise that colluding with a multiple sex offender to make obscene phone calls very much in public was something you could come back from to become a national treasure.

If that were an example of the treasure the nation had, we would definitely be in a bad way as a nation.

Besides, the only time I met him he was jumping a queue because he was too important to have to wait in line like the unimportant public.

I remember seeing Lulu when I was about 15 coming out of the stage door after a show where I was hoping to get her autograph and hearing her effing and blinding at everyone. Sounded really common.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 29/08/2026 20:40

Meant to quote a post about Lulu.

celebagent · 29/08/2026 20:40
