I can't write. I write like I'm 7 years old. Actually a 7 year old probably writes better than me. My writing gas always been child like. Its getting worse though. I probably only pick up a pen a handful of times a year. The feel on my fingers feels strange. Anyway its really bad.

I actually think it’s quite good! Nothing wrong with rounded letters; they’re often easier to read. Mine is appalling.

I think that most of us handwrite so seldom, apart from signatures, that this is true for almost everyone. My handwriting is certainly absolutely awful.

It's legible, which is a massive plus! There's a widespread loss of handwriting skills since the Internet I believe. As long as you can be understood when you do have to write, I wouldn't worry about it.
Mine's atrocious. I write lists to myself and not infrequently can't actually read something back! 😂

I’m often told I have nice handwriting, and I think it’s because as a child/nerd I was given some calligraphy books and pens. Maybe find a basic calligraphy book or even one designed for kids, so you can relearn how to form consistent letter shapes. It’s just practice. I do think handwriting will eventually become a bit of a lost art, though!

I can read that without a problem, it's not so bad. I've seen much, much worse.

I think with the increased use of phones and other devices, people's handwriting will get gradually worse in years to come as there will be less reason to pick up a pen. Spelling and grammar is already going down the pan due to predictive text, abbreviations and colloquial language....innit!

Edited to add: I used to have very neat writing when I was younger and my MIL always asked me to write cards and envelopes as my writing was the neatest. I couldn't say that now though. My handwriting has got really scruffy over the past 20 years.

It's better than at least half the writing in secondary schools!

If you don't use the muscles in your hand for writing and other fine motor tasks, it will feel a bit odd. That's normal.

Compare it with beautiful copperplate, yours is legible and copperplate is not 😆.

Can other people read it? Yes.
Have you communicated what you wanted to communicate? Also yes.
Could it be neater? Yes, but that’s not the point.

You're writing is fine. I've seen much, much worse. (I taught for more than 40 years.)

It’s absolutely fine and not childlike at all. I was expecting something completely different to what you’ve posted. It’s just become unfamiliar that’s all, I suspect many of us are similar.

This is so much better than my handwriting. I would be really chuffed if I could write as well as that.
A casual reader could be forgiven for thinking I never went to school.
Exacerbated, of course, by the lack of practice afforded by the readily available use of technology.

I process hand written requests in my job and I promise you this is better than most CEOs writing

I have what I describe as Victorian handwriting and I’d say in this day and age yours will be more universally understood as cursive isn’t well used

i fill in forms in capitals, would that maybe make you feel a bit better to try that?

Lots of people write like that. It’s perfectly legible and normal. Unless you practice you won’t get beautiful flowing writing.

So accept it or practice. Those are the options. My mother used to make me copy out books to improve my writing.

Although your spelling is where you could definitely improve. You misspelt awareness and reassurances. Spelling is more important than handwriting imo.

There are a few SPAG errors in it but it is clear and legible.

Your handwriting is perfectly clear and easy to read.

Snap! I loved my calligraphy set, and still get nice comments about my handwriting on the rare occasion anyone sees it.

I don't think your handwriting's that bad though op, I can read it. It's something you can definitely improve if you think it would be worth investing the time in. For the amount of writing we need to do these days, it probably isn't worth it!
