2026 is turning out to be a right rotter, isn't it.

Very sad. He seared himself into my 17 year old brain as Frank. I’ve been watching his entry and Sweet Transvestite on repeat and every time I see something new. A legend.

Fantastic actor; charismatic, witty and an all-round beautiful man. RIP Tim.

Tim Curry in Pirates of Penzance in 1982 was my first Musical - Theatre Royal Drury Lane, my boyfriend at the time took me - we loved it and went back again and again. Tim Curry in pirate garb and strutting around the stage - there's bits on YouTube and it's wonderful.

And Spamalot in New York in the first week of the run of this very new Musical - he was King Arthur played with humour and warmth. And then when it transferred to London, with Hannah Waddingham as The Lady Of The Lake - two huge personalities on the stage, sublime.

Dear, dear man, your command of the dramatic pause was legendary.

I have just watched the Three Musketeers tonight, with a decent glass of wine.

May the thespians of the sky gather you home.

Love Tim Curry in all his roles but particularly Frank N Furter. Such a talented guy, and that beautiful voice.

We were talking about events coming in threes last night after Dolly, and Bonnie T a few weeks ago. We live in South Wales so that has been huge here. We were musing about various other strong female artists. When we heard about Tim, my son said that’s the 3rd - all gay icons. He also says that those who fancy Tim as Frank n Furter cross all barriers - straight and gay men and the same with women. (I can confirm this for myself as a lesbian…. 🤣🤣).

His friendship group - music and drama kids mainly ages 16-18 - are gutted about all three of them. My boy is currently watching Rocky Horror - family viewing of 9-5 tomorrow.

No more now! We do not need another 2016.

We've been chatting about Frank n Furter with our older DC tonight, and the bloody wonder of the Rocky Horror Show.

We celebrated our registry office wedding at The Plaza recently, and walking through the lobby, I was reminded of Tim Curry in Home Alone 2 (even though the lobby scenes were filmed at a different hotel!) What a great performance.

If I put my atheism to one side for a moment, Tim and Dolly are currently singing a duet in the afterlife.

What sad news.

The first film I saw Tim in was 'Annie' as Rooster, when it first came out at the cinema. I found him quite a scary character at my then young age!

Like many who were too young first time round, I 'discovered' the Rocky Horror Picture Show (on video) in my teens and like everyone else was bowled over by Frank!

Since then I've seen him in numerous films and TV and he always brought that slightly sinister but comedic presence to his roles.

A great character and talent - RIP.

If you can get hold of the DVD version of Clue it's worth it, as there are multiple who-dunnit endings!

I forgot to mention how much I loved him in Muppet Treasure Island aswell. I feel a Tim Curry film marathon coming on this weekend.

I saw that too, but in Autumn 1973 when it had transferred from the Royal Court to the Chelsea Classic Cinema in Kings Road. When it closed, so did the cinema, which was demolished and turned into Boots!

When they ushered you to your seat, you were in total darkness apart from some dim red lights on the walls. As you entered the row, they tapped you on the shoulder and you turned to find someone in hideous make-up, with an upward-facing torch under their chin, leering at you. The screaming was very funny.

RIP Tim Curry.

Just popping back on to say Tim’s autobiography Vagabond is on Spotify, narrated by the man himself. I have a subscription so not sure if it’s an available on the free version. It’s wonderful!

I got it, but I was just making a (very terrible) joke about what's always made me giggle: the idea of there being two British celebrities of (virtually) the same age called Tim Curry and Tim Rice

Tim Curry as Franknfurter was the sexiest a man has ever been.
The Prince Charles cinema in London has just announced a run of Singalonga RHPC showings. We've booked for the November one.

Apparently I told DH Tim Rice had died, and he was surprised he hadn’t seen anything online.
