2026 is turning out to be a right rotter, isn't it.

Loved him RH, I was off school with flu and my brother let me watch it. My dad walked in, saw Tim Curry in his stockings and asked my brother if I should really be watching that!
Loved it so much, I watched it every day while recovering.

Lovely chap, wonderful voice. I loved another indie film he did - Times Square. Had amazing soundtrack. He shall be missed.

He was amazing in Legend, one of my favourite childhood movies. He was also a very terrifying Pennywise - I caught part if it when I was very young and it really scared me. Watched it recently with my teen DS who couldn't work out why I had been so scared but he did agree TC was a fantastic Pennywise.

Tim Rice wasn't in it, was he? That would be bittersweet!

He's 81 now - but I don't think he has any real enemies or dissenters!

How the hell was he the same age as Dolly!

Re muppet films, I remember once reading that Michael Caine treated the muppets as other actors and that Tim Curry acted like he was one of the muppets 😆

Just told DH that Tim Curry had died.

“Tim Curry has died.”
“What? He wasn’t very old”
“He was 80.”
“Really? That’s surprising. I liked him when he was on Blue Peter.”

Not sure how Mark Curry and Tim Curry can be confused….🙈

I think after 80, every day's pretty much a gamble.

I've got about 5 or 6 relatives between 79 and 85 and every time a similar age celeb dies before them, I'm a bit like: how are my lot managing this?

That’s not the point the poster is making.

They are saying that living to 80 is a good, long life and it’s difficult to feel too despondent about done dying at that age. It’s natural.

But we feel sad when people we know and love die - even if they are old and had a good life. And it’s not unreasonable to be sad when celebrities who have been important in our lives die too, Not because they died tragically young but simply because they’re gone from our lives and sometimes it feels like an era has ended.

Bill Skarsgård was a fine Pennywise but none will ever outshine Tim Curry 💔

Always watch RHPS every October, will be a sad one this year.

My sexual awakening was watching a VHS of Rocky Horror and have seen the film literally hundreds of times and also various live shows. Loved Tim so much and feeling very sad (and old). RIP Frank

It’s hard- and sad- to be faced with the reality that Tim is not still the charismatic man in a suspender belt, but is in fact now a recently deceased 80 yr old.
And I am, apparently, no longer a teenager.

Dying at 80 is not a shock or terribly sad.
