Can’t remove Crazy colour stuff

Stupidly I let my DD talk me into using crazy colour on her hair (mid blonde natural) and although it’s faded I cant get it out
Tonight I've tried Vosene and washing up liquid but I can’t shift it.
Shes 11 and is back at school in a week.
Any advice on removal? The colour base remover is bleach so I don’t want to do that.
please help!

Hairdresser has advised head and shoulders between now and her visiting. So going to do that with loads of conditioner in between.
I always say no. First time I say yes amd I’m now having a nervous breakdown

lush shampoo bars leech my hair, and I accident found out so does the ordinarys glycolic acid 🤣

aubergine is a darker crazy colour so I’m not surprised it’s stained, but contrary to what most say, it’s not the worst of them to remove either - it’s a brand I stay clear from because it’s so crap for longevity

the hairdresser can help get rid and neutralise it

I’m really pleased how much the head and shoulders sat on it has helped.
I hope using it for the next 3 days should get it to a stage where I can either chance it at school or pay to have it sorted.
I figure the lighter I get it the easier to correct it.

Yes as I said ColourB4 will strip the hair dye out, it isn’t a bleach and doesn’t damage the hair too much. A good conditioner after will sort it out. I’ve used it a fair few times and it’s always worked well.

Keep lifting it with the head and shoulders and don’t worry too much. It’s very unlikely that she’s going to go to School with a colour that’s too out of the way for them. I’m trying not to laugh, but this takes me back to 40 years ago! Can’t believe it’s been that long! When I did a home bleach, It went every kind of pink and orange and God knows what. So I stuck a black on it and went to School. The School didn’t mind and everybody else thought it was really cool and then I’ve been black on and off ever since. I’m now 53 and I’ve gone blonde again!

My daughter buys head and shoulders for this purpose! Leave it on for ages and it will lift it out x

Colour B4 absolutely stinks for days tho, sulphur that lingers.
Keep rubbing head and shoulders into dry hair, leave and rinse X as many times as you can to fade it.

I’ve had coloured hair for years and I struggle to keep the colour in, so tbh it never occurred to me that’s fun colour would not only last, but refuse to leave!

Ive told her that this is never being done again! I was pleased how good it looked (it looked really good) and she really enjoyed having it, but now she’s not loving sitting in head and shoulders quite so much!

OP … don’t feel silly, be kind to yourself.. you loved it; she loved it and worst part is it’s a lesson learned to ensure you get temporary colour in future. Please don’t let this stop you or your daughter from having loved this experience and always say yes to what you want to say yes to in future.. xx

The sprays are quite good if you ever want a temporary boost of colour that does wash out quickly.

It's also possible that her hair is a different texture to yours and absorbs the colour more readily.

My bright pink doe fades really quickly, even when not shampooed regularly. Shampoo it daily and it won’t last long.

I washed my hair in herbal essences once and it completely stripped it!

In fairness I did think it was temporary. I didn’t see “semi permanent” and it’s a stupid error becsuse I’ve done all the dyes myself over the years!

I did look at it the other day and think it was still quite vivid, and I ought to address getting it out, but when it didn’t shift I did panic because it’s not a colour she can pass off as vaguely natural.

I will say, it’s an absolutely lovely colour, I was so proud of the job I did, less so when frantically washing it 20 times in one evening 🤣

Love that you did this for her - she would have loved it and life would be boring af if we never had a bit of fun!

I recently had a toning problem - my toner turned orange 🫪

One thing that really helped me was vitamin c powder mixed with head and shoulders and then a good deep conditioner. A lot of the ginger washed out then faded.

This happened to us last year, also year 6 to 7 transition. We used Raspberry Rebel by Schwarzkopf which said it would wash out after 15 washes but it was still there 6 weeks later. That colour has now been discontinued. In her profile photo on EduLink, DD has a visible pink streak. The school were ok about it and by Christmas it had gone.

Have you tried wiping shaving foam on a small area to see if that shifts it? I know it's supposed to be good for getting pen marks out of carpets.

This happened to me! Don’t panic op. I put bright pink on my son’s hair in the school holidays years ago and it was still a bit pink when he went back…

You need clarifying shampoo and anti dandruff shampoo. Use one, then the other. Then condition well as it’s drying, but a couple of washes should get it out.

This said it faded out as you washed, and I did notice it wasn’t fading much, but then panicked tonight when I didn’t lift at all
I’m amazed at the staying power on her natural hair.
God knows what would have happened on my hair, when we discussed me trying a fun streak.
Fortunately I chickened out, or that would be a whole other conversation!

As someone who colours their own hair and has done for almost 20 years including colours and bleaching - you’re not getting it out without bleach.

To fade Crazy Colour mix baking soda with dandruff shampoo to make a paste, massage into damp hair leave for 10-15 minutes. Condition hair.

Take her to a hair dresser. You don’t want to ruin her hair by doing crazy DIY concoctions. Get her to shampoo it with a lot of shampoo every day.

I’m not sure if suitable for kids but could you stick a box dye on that’s darker?

I use crazy colours- have done for years.
Get a green toner- home bargains usually have some. Pop it on, leave for a bit then wash out.
It’s the opposite colour on the colour wheel so will neutralise the colour.

I do this when I fancy a change.

We had that situation a couple of years ago, but it was fuscia:) I found on Mumsnet someone's recipe" - squeeze lemon juice in a bowl (the amount of it depends on the hair lenghth)? add 3-4 tablespoon of soda bicarbonate and add some fairy to make it soapy. Mix well and spread all over the hair, keep it for aboun 40-60 minutes and wash preferably with Head&shoulders. Repeat untill it's more or less acceptable by the school. It worked for us, it didn't go completely, but it was acceptable by the school rules
