Can’t remove Crazy colour stuff

Stupidly I let my DD talk me into using crazy colour on her hair (mid blonde natural) and although it’s faded I cant get it out
Tonight I've tried Vosene and washing up liquid but I can’t shift it.
Shes 11 and is back at school in a week.
Any advice on removal? The colour base remover is bleach so I don’t want to do that.
please help!

I used to find swimming pools would destroy any colour in my hair (apart from hairdresser applied blonde highlights)

If it were me, I'd tie her hair back in a tight bun and put a plain school colour Alice band over it.

The problem with DIY removal like swimming pool etc is you might just change the colour (eg to green) rather than remove it

Head and Shoulders shampoo is apparently great for stripping dye out.

If it's faded then it might be less noticeable in a week's time. You could also get a light brown or dark blonde dye close to her natural colour and try this over the top.

Crazy colour purple never left my hair. It just went green and horrible

Aubergine. Ok really scared to try to remove it and it’s quite dark in places.
I might buy some head and shoulders.
Ive ordered a bleach free Malibu remover and will do a strand test, but can’t believe I’ve screwed up so much, it’s on the underside of her hair

I’d take her to the hairdresser with aubergine tbh.

Do you think a hairdresser could do it. I feel so stupid, it was a bit of fun

I don’t know but I wouldn’t try it myself I’d take it to the hairdresser.

ColourB4 dye remover doesn’t have bleach in but you have to follow the instructions exactly for it to work

I went to a hairdresser to remove a pink crazy colour . It cost 160 pounds and didn’t work . It was quite a high end hairdresser as well . They told me crazy colour is the worst to remove , it gets into your DNA lol. Please don’t waste your money going to a hairdresser you will just have to grow it out

Im going to ring a hairdressers tomorrow (mine is away) but I don’t want her in loads of trouble on her first day

Use JoBaz hair colour remover max strength. Twice. I did the same last year with DD2.

this is why you don’t dye children’s hair. despite all the “cool” parents/celebs popping up on socials to say “it’s fine and don’t comment” 🤦🏽‍♀️. there’s also children’s delicate skin/scalp/hair to consider. see also gel nails and second piercings. it won’t come out. hopefully the school won’t enforce their rules and send her home

Assuming that there’s still some colour left on by the time term starts, in your shoes I’d write to school explaining the situation. It’s absolutely not your DD’s fault, and you’re trying so hard to remove it. I’m sure they’ll be lenient with her when you describe the many methods you’ll have tried by then.

We faded it as much as we could until DS' poor scalp was red and sore. Then we gave up and dyed it brown.

Look, I feel bad enough. I thoughtless temporary, it was summer and it’s a pink bit of dye.

It’s nothing to do with celebs and not something I would generally do, but it was fun at the end of year 6.

Experiment with hairstyles that might hide it such as a plait. If it's on the underside, you could do a tight bun then cover the bun with one of those thin nets that ballet dancers wear. Then hardly any of it would show. The ballerina look is perfect for looking tidy and smart in the first week at senior school.

I wouldn't pour even more product on there because there's a real chance you'd just strip away one tone (like the red) leaving an even more noticeable bright green.

Oh or Google the French Twist - sweep the blonde bit to the right then roll all her hair to the left in a sausage shape. The aubergine will be hidden inside.

This is good advice. If you can't cover it with a natural looking light brown then I'd try and mask it and keep up with the anti-dandruff shampoos - thinking about it, H&S is probably the same logic as Vosene, but it's not expensive and shouldn't hurt to try. Maybe stick some of the shampoo directly on the darker patches and get her to stick a shower cap on and keep it on for a while before rinsing out?

As it's on the underside it probably won't show too much.

Maybe get her to take a multivitamin and hope one of them helps hair grow faster and then if it doesn't fade at all, you can maybe cut it short?

Head and shoulders, preferably a clarifying one. But likely you will have to cover it with a light brown, you can get temporary browns I think?
Don’t listen to people giving you grief, it’s all sort outable and I’m sure she loved the experience.

I'd honestly go straight to hairdresser with this. If you keep trying home remedies you're likely to damage the condition of your DD's hair. A hairdresser can either remove it or, worst case, re-dye it darker to hide the pink colour.

And don't beat yourself up - it's one more 'won't do this again' to cross off the mistakes list 😄

I’ve put head and shoulders on on for 10 minutes.
i think it’s lifting, the pink is coming through more.
I’m going to keep doing it, then I have a hairdresser booked if I can’t get it out.
If it tones down enough it’s ok.

She did love it and I loved it for her, she felt great, but I have since realised that particular one is a nightmare, so a lesson is learned.

I will explain to school but I’m hoping to fade it off enough and my hairdresser finish it

Genuinely, I colour my hair and I wish my brown had this staying power!!
