Hotel buffet breakfast, what's your selection?

I love a great buffet breakfast. Due on holiday in a few weeks and this is a part I am looking forward to! I tend to skip lunch so a lush breakfast is a real treat.
Just mulling over what I might have...maybe a small plate of savoury bits like ham, cheese, tomatoes, olives, and a slice of toast and butter. Then a bowl of fresh fruit, or a crepe with honey and fruit. A mini pastry or two. A mini cafetiere of coffee (my hotel does coffee by the cafetiere, yay).
Also love trying the local breakfast specialities such as those flaky honey crepes you get at breakfast in Morocco.
What's your choices?

That sounds amazing- have not been to Stockholm yet so I will definitely plan to stay there when I do !

I don't think I've ever eaten breakfast on holiday before! I'm too lazy to wake up early enough!
I guess anything to do with eggs and bread is a safe bet. And coffee. I must be missing out on a cornucopia of goodness!

I love the fact so many of you are wanting tinned tomatoes.

I love them, but always thought of them as low rent. Not that that stopped me enjoying them, but it's surprised me to see so many MNetters enjoying them.

I like a bit of everything!

Not a huge tinned tomato fan, but something I really enjoy on holiday which we never have at home is tinned fruit, particularly the nectarines in juice. Occasionally after a trip I will buy a tin, but they sit there festering for years until out of date, so I know it’s best saved as a nice holiday treat. Oh and tinned grapefruit segments- they’re ace .

To start natural yogurt, berries and chopped nuts.

Depends what else I've got room for, but I'd chose friend egg on toast, any fish going, cheeses or toast.

Depends where we are, but staples are fruit juice, bircher/granola with yogurt, some sort of pastry.
Plus whatever hot option is available - so in this country it would be hash brown, mushrooms, egg, tomato, bacon.
But we're just back from Thailand where I had a local dish each day for breakfast - so pad thai, green curry, bitter melon curry, papaya salad, pork skewers etc. Not a huge breakfast person, at home I never bother with it, but I love a breakfast buffet in a hotel as you can have small amounts of lots of things!

And at all the hotels we stayed in in the far east, they did me a vanilla iced latte for breakfast - it was lovely. One hotel even got me a second one to take back to the room without me asking for it.

We are kindred spirits, but I would add bacon also not touching beans. 😍

Swedish hotel breakfasts are amazing! I’m not able to fully indulge for various reasons, but I really wish I could!

V interesting choices in Thailand, and an iced latte sounds a perfect way to start a hot day

Oversees I tend to just have eggs and fruit.

UK hotel either have porridge or eggs and fruit and maybe some bacon

It is indeed a wow breakfast .

I love tinned grapefruit! I never think to eat it at home

In honour of this thread, i went bizarre breakfast, just because i could...

Spoon of red pesto chicken
Waffle from the kitchen -bacon from the buffet on top
Uttapam from the kitchen
Corn on the cob
Small salad, with apple cider vinegar dressing.
Beetroot juice
Sliver of blue cheese
Small chocolate donut.

Whilst enjoying the tones of a man playing his bansuri.

The waiter seemed horrified that I put the bacon on the waffle - THAT was the thing that surprised him!

Fruit juice
Fresh fruit with natural yoghurt
Poached egg, vegetarian sausage, mushroom, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, wholemeal toast.

Coffee

Tend to ignore the mini pastries and pancakes now as they're just not nice enough to justify the calories.

I loathe 'hash browns' but if a hotel had proper bubble and squeak or fried potatoes with breakfast, I'd be delighted. Likewise I love spinach, avocado, homemade baked beans etc. Sadly, I don't frequent very fancy hotels!

Also love a Turkish style breakfast with olives, tomatoes, cheeses etc.

Love a hotel brekkie … usually head for the omelette station if they have one. If not it’ll be scrambled eggs on toast with sausage and/or bacon and mushrooms.

My fave hotel brek was in Bangkok last year … they had Thai green curry, noodles, spring rolls, prawn toast … I was in heaven 😋
