Ooh I keep forgetting. Is it once a week or all episodes on ITVX?

Funnily enough we've been watching Armstrong and Miller episodes as we missed them at the time. This is what comes of not watching heaps of TV: there's always something to catch up on! Mitchell and Webb next week 😃

It's all on It X, although I'm trying to ration myself to a couple of episodes at a time.

Glad you had a good visit and trip home @MewithME, it must be hard.

The wonders of the modern world, being able to have someone bring you a breakfast in a box 🤣

Oh no @TeaAndStrumpets . Did I say the wrong thing? Meant good wishes, I assure you.

No you are lovely! I am very touched that I can brighten someone's day and I think there is such a lot of good humour on this thread, everybody adds to it! Thanks for your kind words.

As regards inhaling fish and chip vapours, ladies, remember to ask someone to fan you and loosen your corsets. I think this treatment should be available on the NHS.

Right that's next up. We have an evening routine of cup of tea, drama episode, short comedy, then TV off for the night and catch up on reading a book or browsing. We're watching Ballard at the moment, we'll be onto Professor T straight after!

Edited to add, this sounds very boring! In fact someone who's had ME for years advised me to not watch anything exciting on TV just before bedtime because it ramps up adrenaline. I have found I can take a bit of drama but anything violent or really tense is too disturbing and affects my heartrate and sleep. It's an annoying hypersensitivity I could do without!

FuzzyPuffling · 29/08/2026 20:19

Just a quick dash in and out to wave at everyone.
Feeling a bit down today; hard to say why, but i think we all know how it sometimes is.

TodayIsabetterone · 29/08/2026 20:32

Waving at @FuzzyPuffling 👋 we get it.

@TeaAndStrumpets you always make me smile with your sense of humour 😀
Fish and chip vapours is fabulous!

My DD asked me if I possibly had an old fashioned fan for something lately and I was able to find one instantly 😀 No I’m not a corset wearing Victorian lady but my mil gave it to me during menopause and it was actually rather useful!

Too tired to type much today, in bed already so will update tomorrow.

Hope sleep is forthcoming for all.

Maybe it's the weather? Suddenly sunk into literal gloom. I've had that feeling for the last couple of days, but think it's almost a hangover from an active week. Hope you perk up 💕

This makes a lot of sense! I used to like a creepy horror or really dark crime drama (I loved Luther!) but can definitely only manage gentler things these days.

I'm now in bed, sandwiched between a cat and a hot water bottle. It's quite nice, verging on too warm... 🥵

I get asked for odd things too, as if I have cupboards and cupboards full! I always think of the song Soldier Soldier Won't you Marry Me where the girl keeps going up to her grandfather's chest and brings him a ---- of the very very best!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 30/08/2026 02:18

Morning all.
Had a lovely day yestèrday. Dd2 & dgd came round for afternoon tea.
And today dh is taking me out to lunch.
Just hope I can get some sleep. Ruddy steroids causing insomnia which is a pain.
Hope everyone has a lovely chilled Sunday 😊.

Oioiqueen · 30/08/2026 08:52

Morning all

Felt totally wiped out with fatigue yesterday. I normally get it 24-48 hours after treatment but we went away for a few days to the caravan straight after it on Tuesday. Whilst I paced myself I don't think I did it enough and it built in the background to the point that my body couldn't do it anymore yesterday. Still feeling it a little this morning, need to get the kids out of the house as we are all at end of summer holiday annoyance with each other. We are planning to go for a walk and then I'm just going to crash again this afternoon and do very little. Tomorrow DH is taking the kids out to meet some friends on their bikes and go to the festival in our nearest town so I plan on doing nothing again. Hopefully by the time the kids go back on Thursday I've shaken off this lingering fatigue. It's tough because I know that a weekend of me resetting my battery will make the world of difference but it's so hard with young kids as they just don't get it.

TeaAndStrumpets · 30/08/2026 09:39

Morning all!

Quite cold today, I am wrapped in my ancient cardi, I think it's like a dressing gown of doom but fine if I need to open the door!

My twitching and brain fog are no better and my jaw has seized up. IBS is very painful at the moment. I need to just rest. It will pass!

@Oioiqueen you are being heroic supporting your family and I hope you can get your head down this week 💐

martha79 · 30/08/2026 09:41

Morning

Hope you can get some rest in @Oioiqueen and hope you got some sleep @CoffeeBeansGalore

I slept ok but am in a strange 'don't quite know how I feel' state this morning.

Today's excitement here:

  • housework (I've done all my bits and now Robert the robot hoover is doing his)
  • Ocado delivery
  • actually I need to get up again and clear out the fridge of old bits and pieces before Ocado get here
  • online shopping for new slippers (laminate floors too slidey with socks on and I'm bored of wearing shoes in the house)
  • maybe popping out to an exhibition of local artists just down the road this afternoon
TodayIsabetterone · 30/08/2026 10:23

Morning all
Sorry to those feeling a bit out of sorts today and particularly @Oioiqueen as fatigue with young children is so hard. My DS was 5 when ME hit and DD came along 2 years later and I often look back and think how did I do it. Hopefully once they're back at school you’ll be able to rest around that a little more. 🤞

Still very tired here and struggling pain wise. I had the osteopath yesterday and embarrassed myself by bursting into tears when she asked how I’d been. Anyhow, she threw everything at it yesterday and I’m now sporting a taped up shoulder for a few days to try and give it some support. Plus she used acupuncture during the treatment and will see me again mid week. It definitely felt a tad easier last night especially my weaker arm. Evenings are usually the worst so something helped yesterday.

So a quiet day here most likely reading and may find something gentle to watch.

I just finished ‘ the man on the inside’ on Netflix which was one of those easy watch things that I quite liked. Had Ted Danson in it from cheers. Not much adrenaline spiked or concentration needed!

Very glad the osteopath is on the case, a bit of support sounds worth it.

Love Ted Danson!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 30/08/2026 13:03

Finally got some sleep & feel human again, although slightly off balance which is annoying.
@Oioiqueen hope you manage some rest & are able to recalibrate.
Sympathies to those not feeling great & hope everyone feels better after a chill out day.
@martha79 have you tried socks with the little rubber bits on the sole?
I have these & they are great.

Ooh exciting! Hope you’ve got something nice in there! 😀

DH is upstairs sorting out the last boxes of stuff to go back into DDs room and swapping some furniture around for her.
I very stupidly decided to give the kitchen sink a good clean probably while he wasn’t there to remind me not to over use my arm! Throbbing again now so back to resting on the sofa.
In my defence, it was needed but I’m annoyed at myself now.

Oioiqueen · 30/08/2026 13:43

@TeaAndStrumpets ypuve definitely got to have the home comforts when it comes to clothing. I couldn't care less what I'm wearing at home as long as its warm. I have some lovely borg fleeces which I wouldn't wear out but are sooooo toasty. Sorry you are struggling today, hopefully things will ease for you once you've had a rest.

@TodayIsabetterone gosh that sounds really hard, no idea how you managed with them so young in diagnosis. Mine are 5 and 7 so not too bad. In some respects I'm glad they aren't younger as when my cancer progresses they'll be hopefully quite a bit older and more self sufficient.

@martha79 I quite liked heat holder socks as they have the grippy bits on the bottom. I also ask for a pair for Christmas as they are dear to buy yourself but I don't mind them as a gift.

martha79 · 30/08/2026 14:01

Those grippy socks are a good idea (as is putting them on the Christmas list). I have just ordered some more shoe-like slippers as I want something I can nip downstairs in too, to get the post or answer the door. Talking of which I've just been woken up from a nap by someone here to view one of the other flats, ringing my doorbell. Not quite the welcome they were expecting, a scruffy half-asleep person 😴🤣

MewithME · 30/08/2026 14:33

Hello all. Recovery day here. Sainsbury's just been so now I'm back in bed about to indulge in some telly goggling.

I'm either going to start rewatching Ludwig, carry on with my random Suits rewatch (never got to the end despite loving it back in the day...utter nonsense but easy watch) or I might start a rewatch of Vigil! New series on and never watched s2. I love Patterson Joseph who was in S1. He followed me on twitter once ... can't remember why now !

Man on the inside was good but that's all I remember!

Anyway, feeling quite content despite pain and tinnitus and headache and slight stomach ache and sore throat 😆 Amazing what you get used to!

Hope you feel better after a bit of rest@Oioiqueen.

DD2 on the phone to tell me she's just realised the author /illustrator of the Hairy Maclary books also illustrated My Cat Likes to Hide in Boxes. A very firm favourite in her childhood. No more news, really, but that was good to know!

TodayIsabetterone · 30/08/2026 15:55

Oh I blooming loved the Hairy Maclary books @TeaAndStrumpets as did both my kids! I was very tempted to name my sausage dog Shnitzel von crum ( with the very low tum)

Edited to add what a good spot! I can picture the other book too but wouldn't have made the connection!

I loved buying books, such fond memories. We had loads to pass on to DD1's three boys, and the survivors went to DGD who is another bookworm, even at 18 months. The bedtime routine takes forever, I think Daddy makes them too exciting with all the voices 😆
