Yes it's true! We've had so many delays I get paranoid. We've got the underfloor heating pipes in now so we might have actual floors soon!

I have one and it’s amazing honestly

Back from hairdressers. I'm chuffed actually. She was really lovely. Salon v calm and easy to park and 3 min drive at most. And....it looks the same just feels better. My kind of haircut 😀

Having a rest now. Shopping delivery soon though may just put frozen stuff away and then have a proper lie down. Knackered now.

Oh that's a big win finding a nice hairdresser! Removes the anxiety.

Lovely day yesterday. Collected my prescriptions first thing then went for a mooch around Lidl, bringing pastries home 🤤

Short nap after lunch and then we spent the rest of the day at DS's. After dinner the rest of them played board games while I rested on the sofa and listened with the Proms on. It was rather late when we got back 😴

Sleep is still terrible but I have nothing planned for today other than tea and lazing around, might do something crafty later ☕

It's laundry day here. Happening slowly. One load on. Last week's load that was hung to dry after the tumble dryer fiasco is half in the basket. It'll probably sit there for another few days.

I'm getting so slow at this, I start to think I've lost things. I was looking for my comfy jeans yesterday.... they're in the pile 🙈

Anyway, I am going to watch some TV now. In loads of pain with that blooming headaches and sore throat feeling. Urgh.

@CoffeeBeansGalore my mum is looking after grandkids single handed for a few days. She's exhausted though they're older. Hope she's ok! I live miles away so I'm no help!

I’m crying screaming at my husband and can’t be like this anymore. I have no support. My mam has cancer and altziemers. I can’t go to see her as she moved away when my illness increased she moved with my sibling who then promptly removed my poa and put her in a home. . I had moved over 400 miles to look after her the first time she had cancer..

Afternoon all
A quiet one here mostly resting and listening to my audiobook. Bit sleepy with new medication patch, keeps hitting me but hopefully I’ll adjust after a few days.
Got my DS & GF visiting tomorrow, just one night before they fly back to Scotland but be lovely to see them.
Then I have a friend visiting the area and staying locally who I’m hoping to catch up with at some point this week. She also has ME so we mostly chat on WhatsApp pretty much daily really. She’s been a rock to me with this years additional health issues so be lovely to spend some time together. Hoping we can both be not too bad on the same day!! But will be a busy week for me socially!

Good afternoon -how lovely to see your dgc. As you say a shattering experience though! I 've been admiring photos of 20 month old dgd on holiday. It looks a bit damp so very fortunate she's already got a raincoat on when she's eating an icecream!

Waitrose delivery this morning. I've been reading the emergency stocking up threads and I think my anxiety levels are at about DEFCON 3. I spent last night doom scrolling and getting quite wound up but I think I've calmed down a bit. So far I've bought one tin of new potatoes so haven't gone prepper yet!

What struck me reading the threads was the number of posters saying "Why are we supposed to be stocking up on food?" Complete ignorance of the outside world. Mind you I think ignorance is pretty ingrained in many people. I remember as a teenager remarking to a fellow 6th form student that I had one eye more short sighted than the other. Instead of believing me she argued that this was impossible, they should be the same! You can't argue with stupid.

That sounds like an incredibly tough situation to be in. I’m so sorry you feel you have no support. Sometimes we need to cry and vent and just let it all out. Sending a hug 💐

Seconding this, a good cry is often all we can do to offload the stress. X

@MewithME did you get your new tumble dryer?

No....! My lovely handyman friend just snipped the plug off and put a new one on. Said machine was fine. I'm still slightly tempted to get a new one before January because we'll all be forced to have heat pump ones then and they don't like being in a garage and takes hours and hours to dry stuff apparently.

@Pasithean when you say you're crying at your husband...is that because he listens or because you are frustrated by not having his support either? I'm so sorry. I know how hard it is to be away from family when you are ill yourself. My mum is healthy just now but if my sibling does the same, it'll be impossible for me to see her. They live even further away.

Pretty worn out today after yesterday, but was expecting that. Have put clean bedding on, emptied the bins, and had a grocery delivery. Made a ridiculously elaborate salad which made me feel like I've had some goodness after too much sugar yesterday.

I did that last night. Tried to be healthy but was too exhausted to cook. I managed to make soup today but I am exhausted and back in bed now. Head is thumping. DS is ill so really hoping I'm not coming down with it or fighting it off 😭

Thank you for replying. I’m frustrated with him being so hap hazard about things. I don’t like him looking after the animals , they are mine and I want to do it. Because of the GP and their decisions , he has never done anything he wanted to do in retirement. He never goes out meets anyone or does anything . Starts to do something at a really inappropriate moment and when I say it cant be done now or can he do it another way he sulks. He wouldn’t get out of bed one night as I said I could hear noises. We lost our chickens to the fox. I hate my life and what I’ve become because of my illness . We have to move for my medical care I don’t want to and I don’t want to live in that area. Every time I go to the gp I’ve got something else because of my lifestyle which has been forced upon me by them. I hate it.

@Pasithean that sounds really complex with such a lot of feelings tangled up in your health needs too. I'm not syore I can offer any advice at all but perhaps it's helpful to just be heard. I do hear you.

Grief is a big part of chronic illness and I think frustration. Letting go of how things were 'meant to be' is a hard thing and it extends to loved ones.

I'm single which brings it's own worries and difficulties but it's not easy at all to manage a relationship either, I'm sure. 💐

@Pasithean sounds really hard, you have so many different things going on at once let alone throwing in a chronic condition

@TodayIsabetterone sounds a lovely friend. Sometimes being with someone who gets it can make a special friendship

@TeaAndStrumpets I know what you mean about the lack of understanding from people about why we should stock up. I work in logistics and know how vulnerable supply chains are. I don't think people need to go mad but if covid taught us anything it's that we should be an incy wincy bit prepared before the mass public go wild and shop like the world is ending. I've got a few tins and a couple of 2l of water. I'll add to it and when DH gets back will ask how much gas is in our camping canister. We are all electric for appliances and hob but can cook on gas with the camping stove if need be. Being rural we often experience power cuts so I wouldn't be surprised to need to use it at some point.

DH will no doubt say I'm over thinking it. I also need another power bank as I can't seem to find mine at present.

You know as soon as you get a new power bank the first one will turn up! At least then you will have a spare.

I have absolutely no faith in people behaving sensibly if there is a disruption in the supply line. We just need to get through to January and we will be deep in the countryside so not quite so crazy as here. DD1 will be next door with a bottled gas cooker and and some woodburners.

I don't know where to begin with stocking up. I buy a lot of rice cakes so might get a few boxes. Dgs2 has been advised to go gluten free and also needs a lot of low carb high protein food, it's expensive. Luckily at the local co op nobody seems to buy gf stuff so DD1 has a freezer full of yellow sticker food!
