Thank you for being here, friends old and new and sharing our gentle chat, trials and tribulations.

You know the rules though...let's be good and fill up the last one 😊

@TodayIsabetterone 😂 I just got off the phone with my Mum. An hour!

Was hoping for a rest before supermarket delivery but as soon as I hung up there was a knock and they'd come early 😞

So HR higher than it should be. Pacing really is impossible 🙈

I'm going to watch more telly now and my friend is popping in at 4pm. She won't stay long but looking forward to seeing her. 😊

I'm having a similar struggle to if I go back to work or not. I miss the stimulation and 'feeling important' but not the having to get stuff done on less days and lack of concentration / ability to remember things. I thought I was going to give up permanently but now I am second guessing. DH says I should give it up so I have more to give at home for him and the kids and that I feel better at the moment because I'm not working.

It's incredibly hard to make the call @Oioiqueen 💐

So friend stayed two hours which was lovely but I'm tired now.....and the tumble dryer has stopped working and the plug looks like it's burnt the socket 🙄

Urgh and arrrgh. Bedtime soon.

@MewithME are you going to have to get an electrician out? No idea how it works when the socket is burnt.

@Oioiqueen yes! I'm cringing after googling it. I think we could have had a fire. I had it in a double adapter for a long while and I noticed that was damaged a few weeks ago and threw it away. I was blaming the adapter so I have been a bit careful since. I got lucky today. I had the washer and dryer on with a heavy duty extension cable. I only have one socket where they are so either have to wash or dry but needed to get both done today.

Noticed the washing wasn't dry when I came to empty it and the washing from the washing machine was very wet. I realised the safety cutout on the heavy duty extension had tripped.

When I looked at all of the sockets, it was causing burning. I thought the mark on the dryer plug was just from the crappy adapter before, but the extension cable socket was marked. I honestly thought the worst that had happened would be blowing fuses. I was very wrong.

So new tumble dryer is needed. I'm not taking chances so new socket too and new extension cable!

Quite scary. I really hadn't thought it could be the actual appliance plug. I've always been careful with the lint drawer etc.

Flipping eck. Random weekend of dead birds and things going wrong. 🙈

Eek @MewithME - glad all is OK. A friend had similar with their dryer and was told not to use extension cables with them. Nobody seems to tell you this until you have smoke coming out...!

Back at work, it's OK so far. My manager is off today unexpectedly, which makes the day a bit quieter, and I'm just plodding through emails.

Yes I know you're not really meant to but I thought it was the actual extension plug that caused the issue. That's what dawned on me ..it wasn't anything to do with the extension. It is the dryer itself. It's getting old and this is what can go wrong apparently. The current in the plug doesn't cope as it ages and it can burn the plug and your wall socket!

Rung an electrician but no answer yet!

Bit of a mare... can't get a new dryer without the socket sorted first....life admin!

I feel awful this morning!

I love my two cats. They have been better to me than a lot of humans I could mention.
They don't catch birds, and have their own litter corner in my garden that I clean up daily.

We have a bit of a hell week this week. Boiler service and car mot; two medical appointments, including one procedure for DH, and the dentist for us both. The dentist is a 1.5 hr drive away, DH doesn't drive so that's me again.

And I felt very unwell last night. Can it hurry up and be next week please? 😞

Quiet day here today, feels odd not going to work ...

Kettle is about to go on though if anyone fancies a brew? ☕

I've got nothing against cats... I just get fed up of any extra work from dealing with cat poo. Was never an issue when we had my dear old dog but this particular cat seems to have claimed my back garden. Don't mind him laying in the grass but standing in his poop wasn't great on top of the pidge burial! My neighbours' cat digs my front flower bed up too but seems to have reined that in a bit now. I was getting soil scattered across the drive right by my car so was having to sweep it up daily to get in at one point!

Hope you manage all your tasks. Take it a bit at a time. Lots of breaks and sits and breathe!

I live in a terraced house, so the cats go in the back garden, and the birds are fed in the front. Seems to work.
Tbf, the cats gave never shown any interest in birds, even when we lived in the country. They prefer mice. Mice can't fly.

That’s quite a drive for the dentist @FuzzyPuffling Im putting off my hygienist appointment and it’s only 5 mins up the road! Though it’s more about being able to sit comfortably in the chair right now!

Same old, same old here. Not much improvement in pain and the meds seem to be contributing to fatigue I think. I tried not taking the morning dose on Saturday as fed up of feeling tired but then by evening I was struggling. Vicious circle!

Got physio at the hospital this afternoon so have written brief notes and questions to ask. I’ve been googling and AI helped me with a summary of what to say. He wasn’t that great last time though my diagnosis has changed since then so maybe he’ll be more helpful today 🤞 I just want to feel some improvement, it’s been nearly 5 months of ongoing pain 😕

I love cats despite having a dog!
We have a pair of friendly cats in the neighbourhood who like to visit our garden. Before we got dippy dog, they came regularly and last summer would often wonder in through an open door to say hello. No idea which house they actually live in but I know they visit at least two more neighbours who are happy for them to do so. We even have nicknames for them 😂 They’re obviously not fans of dippy dog so we see less of them now but sometimes one will appear a minute after DH has taken the dog for a walk and then retreat to the garage roof to stare haughtily when she comes back 😂

@FuzzyPuffling sounds a really stressful week for you

@TodayIsabetterone hope the physio goes OK and you get the questions out you want to say. I've found AI very helpful health wise. You've obviously got to be careful but it is quite good at putting what you want to say into coherent sentences.

My cats getting quite old now. However she literally does nothing except sleep, poo and eat haha! On occasion when the door is open for Tesco she'll dart out and try and catch a butterfly but she's just too old and lazy now. Her and her mother used to be tyrants. In an old victoriana house we had one of them brought in a mouse and proceeded to chase it around the kitchen. The mouse got in the pantry and then behind a bit of skirting board. Never to be seen again and no evidence of it so it must have died in the walls. Then every time we've moved house or brought a child home from hospital we've had a dead one plonked on the backdoor step. They never did it any other time, it was more like a "you've brought a baby home for me / found a nice new garden for me here's a sacrificial gift". Weird weird weird creatures but very loving.

Dull & muggy here. Due to reach 17⁰c later.
Quiet day but hospital appt to see my rheumatologist tomorrow & then physio on Wednesday. Not ideal but grateful I'm being kept an eye on.

Our old cat was fabulous though I do remember him doing a protest wee in DHs trainers one time. 🙈 DH was not impressed! I don’t blame him really, we’d brought two puppies home at once and he was not impressed and letting us know! 😂 He literally just looked at DH with a ‘it’s your own fault’ expression!

Seems appropriate! One of my cats did a wee in some (new, only tried on before) running shoes I'd bought off Vinted, no idea what was in the other person's house that she objected to 😂

Resting today, overdid things at the weekend and paying for it, but popping in every day. Hope you all have a good day.

Well tears were had at the physio which I’m embarrassed about but he was a bit useless and I’m just being bounced back to GP again who in turn bounced me to the physio in the first place 😕 Only one colleague can perform steroid injections and theres an 8 month waiting list. He had no other suggestions for pain relief but did concede to writing to my GP.

Apparently if the pain is that bad, I could always try A & E 🙈 no understanding that I can’t sit upright in A & E or cope with the busy environment for half an hour without PEM kicking in let alone hours and hours.

So home and having a cuppa in the garden with a tunnocks caramel wafer because I need cheering up!

Well that is very poor, I hope your GP gets his finger out. Yes just resting today. Easier said than done.
