In the loo in a pub in Richmond last night. 2 young women chatting, as I was going out one of them tapped me on the back and said “your E is very chic”.
any idea what that means? I’m 63 and not particularly stylish

In which case, what would it mean?

Why would E stand for something that's both spelled and pronounced differently?

Young people pronounce it es-tetic. Completely wrong and irritating but they do. Even my husband does when I correct him over and over

Aesthetic - I would use this as an adjective, rather than a noun.
Or - I would use the adverb aesthetically

I'm going to throw a curve ball and ask if there had been any reference to food/eating out? 'Yori' is a fabulous Korean restaurant, with a branch in Richmond, that I would describe as chic.

Actually it is/can be, for example, aesthetic appeal. Aesthetic would be the adjective because it describes the noun (style).
Aesthetic can be a noun but less common (becoming more common).
