In the loo in a pub in Richmond last night. 2 young women chatting, as I was going out one of them tapped me on the back and said “your E is very chic”.
any idea what that means? I’m 63 and not particularly stylish

I looked it up. ‘E’ can mean oestrogen. It’s obvious. You have chic oestrogen.

I think "scarlet" is the name of the dress, not its colour.

If it was ‘E’ I’d assume it refers to an e-cig!

I have a dress very similar in style in navy, but I bought it from Uniqlo at a fraction of the price.

It’s a sort of dark pink. I’ve put a stone on recently, gone from an 8 to a 12, but have discovered that this shape, with panels, is very flattering because it hides my big belly. Bought a couple from JL’s own range recently in navy and emeralds.

i have big arms and have always been self conscious of them but in this weather I’ve just gone Fuck It, they’re coming out.

right I choose to believe I have Chic Energy. Maybe it’s a super power I haven’t yet learned to harness 🤪

I would assume they had a necklace with an E charm / initial on it and she said ‘Ooh your E is very chic.’

E means the drug ecstasy, at least according to the song Ebeneezer Goode in the 90s.

Lots of Gen Z have picked it up as a term from influencers and pronounce it "esthetic" so they might think so.
