“President Donald Trump said he is considering changing the name of Lake Ontario, the easternmost of the Great Lakes spanning the U.S.-Canada border, to Lake America, as the U.S.-Canada trade fight escalates.
The threat adds to a long list of things — bodies of water, mountains, cultural centers, battleships, transit hubs, federal agencies — the Trump administration has renamed or proposed to rebrand.

If the latest Kennedy Centre threat doesn't blast a rocket up Congress' arse (or whoever is responsible for saying no) then America is totally lost. Drowning in a sea of lost morals and with no backbone.

How many of the new names of his renamed geographical features have been adopted by the international community, as opposed to by his cronies?

Still, there is precedent: the English speak of the English Channel and the French of La Manche. The Americans can call the lake one thing and the Canadians another if the Americans want to look extremely silly.

I know it’s an obvious comment to make, but I’m afraid an awful lot of Americans (pace our friends on these threads and the millions of others who see through him) already have made themselves look very silly indeed. Just somehow they manage to stick in place, immovable in the face of common sense. Reminds me, I saw a silly FB clip recently where a woman was claiming Trump was great and had made America Great Again because he had taken the country out from under the yoke of Great Britain, the country which for the past 125 years had secretly been controlling the USA. I kid you not. Batshit.
