It's a shame most Americans (still) haven't yet worked out where Trump has taken them. There are still hi-NRG type people spouting the same nonsense about "wait till the midterms" and "the constitution" and other such comforting phrases as the train hurtles on to it's sorry destination.

Those that have worked it out have already "left the jurisdiction".

If his popularity ratings are down around twenty per cent, that seems to suggest that four-fifths of Americans have worked out where he has taken them, I'd have thought.

But the people who can't stand him have not left the USA. Where should they go? More to the point to stay and vote against him, no?

The problem is that Trump won’t accept the results if they go against him, which it looks like they will. I suppose he’d find it harder to make such a claim credible if the results weren’t close, but he would still make the claim.

What does that mean? You do understand how difficult it is to emigrate, right? And as someone who has 'left the jurisdiction' or at least has the option to be in a different one, I'm hardly comforted by the direction of this country.

This is the small settlement of $5m, what about the $80m one?

Yes, that's what I meant - I hope the 88.3m one gets through the appeal process quickly as he didn't put up cash for it. Equity through a bond company, IIRC.

Ah, Wiki says: "Trump secured a bond for this amount plus 10% to appeal. The Department of Justice (DOJ) also filed a motion to be swapped in as defendant under the Westfall Act, which would moot the case as the federal government cannot be sued for defamation. The Second Circuit rejected both efforts by April 2026. In July, Trump and the DOJ appealed to the Supreme Court."

Sure, but that's a very small fraction of the population that's eligible.

I remember at the time there was issues with that $91 million bond. Because he did not put it up himself, with his own money.

Trump secures $91 million bond for judgment in E. Jean Carroll defamation case - ABC News

From that, the Bond was put up by "The former president obtained an appeals bond from the Virginia-based Federal Insurance Company totaling $91,630,000 to cover the $83 million judgment in the case plus interest, according to a court filing Friday morning."

And who is this "Virginia-based Federal Insurance Company". Why It's Chubb.

Chubb Limited - Investor Relations

"Chubb is a world leader in insurance. With operations in 54 countries and territories, Chubb provides commercial and personal property and casualty insurance, personal accident and supplemental health insurance, reinsurance and life insurance to a diverse group of clients."

Well, insurance is a gamble after all. What was the gamble here for " a world leader in insurance"? Was it losing $91 million, or was it that they would have a reelected POTUS who owe them something.

Trump can't even fart honestly.

And see here. This insurance trade publication . See what this also says-

6. Chubb chief justified bond supporting Trump - Business Insurance

"It was not the only bond issued by an insurer to Mr. Trump in 2024 that sparked interest.
When a New York judge in February ordered Mr. Trump and his co-defendants to pay $464 million for misstating property values to secure better loan and insurance rates, the former president had trouble finding an insurer to issue a bond. In April, though, Knight Specialty Insurance Co. provided one."

He is rotten to the core. No wonder his farts stink.

It's not Trump V E Jean Carol for that $83 million. It's Chubb V E Jean Carol. With Trump off to the side, potentially with control of the courts. And lets not forget the near $1 billion in free legal services he, ahem, secured.

Trump Has Obtained $940M in 'Free Legal Services' From 9 Big Law Firms. Will They Now Face Talent, Brand and Conflict Issues? | Law.com

Sorry for all the links. They are included to show I am not a conspiracist. Because if someone said all this about a previous POTUS ( apart from Nixon), who would effing believe it ?

Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff, he has it sussed. Aim below the belt. Out of order in normal times of course, but in the Trump era, fill yer boots. Take it to his level, see how lower Trump and gang will go. Sorry Michelle O, you were wrong on this.

“While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings, he golfs, and trades stocks,”

The Senator said the above. Too tame, Lets go lower.

“He doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar,”

Bingo.

"Asked about the Democratic senator’s remarks, Trump on Monday compared Ossoff to Pee-wee Herman and told CNN’s Kristen Holmes in the Oval Office that he would “much rather do other things.” He then pivoted to discussing the White House construction, saying that he was “building a great facility” and extolling his East Wing project as “much more than a ballroom.”"

Thing is, did Trump fully know what the Senator said? I doubt it. Cos see what his gang said later:

"“Jon Jackoff has to be the biggest cuck loser in politics. Instead of denigrating hard working people serving their country, Jon should look deep into his soul and ask himself why he’s a miserable person who hates this country,” White House communications director Steven Cheung wrote in a post to social media."

Ohh. Bit of religion in there. That's a dog whistle for the evangelicals.

"White House spokesman Davis Ingle said Ossoff was a “cringeworthy, feminine theatre kid cosplaying as Barack Obama,” and a “lightweight loser.”"

Ohh, what a not measured reply. More dog whistles in that than on a Welsh sheep farm. Go on Davis Ingle, blurt out what you really want to say. You are so close. Shout it out, so people can see what you are.

Of course, no way of knowing if it was the "Natalie " reference that got such a reaction, but my guess is yes.

He's the gift that just keeps on giving. It's no wonder Nate White wrote that great article on why the British really don't like Donald Trump and here he is again.

The USS Abraham Lincoln has been on station since December and there are reports all is not well onboard with food and sanitation issues and the mental health and readiness of the crew suffering. It is due to be relieved soon but in the meantime did we get a conciliatory quote from the president. An offer to investigate how this came to be. Sympathy for what he has brought upon the crew with his war? Nope. Just denials and when asked if the deployment of the USS Abraham Lincoln had been too long he replied: 'Not nearly long enough'.

The crew should be grateful to be part of history, history that he is creating, so they can have something to tell their grandkids. They will get something that HE was denied. Denied by those freaking bone spurs that he used to desperately try to pray away.

And Goddammit, he won't let these folk live with the shame that he has had to carry. No Sir. No freaking way. They will do it if they like or not. And they will thank him for it.

FFS, these idiots have no idea how lucky they are. Free beer for life, a slap on the back when they walk into their local bar. These people will have streets named after them.

Ungrateful barstewards.

(That is what I would post on Breitbart comments if I was a Trumpster, and if I had Breitbart too of course.

Don’t be disloyal. It’s biggly beautiful!

President Trump has claimed that those opposing his White House ballroom project are “disloyal” to the United States.
The ballroom is at the center of a court battle over whether work on the project can continue to go ahead, with questions also raised over plans to build a military complex beneath the site.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Monday, Trump dismissed criticism of the costly endeavour, which is being built on the former site of the East Wing of the White House.
“The people that are opposing the ballroom are people that, in my opinion, are very disloyal to our country,” he said. “And I think we’re doing well.
“We’re way ahead of schedule,” he continued. “We’re under budget. It’s going to be the most beautiful ballroom of its kind.”

No taxation without representation.

Ain't that the chant ? Apart from DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, Virgin Islands.

Given the money the money they have, Statehood would be swift. And the first Senator they send might be interesting for MAGA.

He has failed us. And not only is he a failure as president. He is flagrantly violating the Constitution, breaking the law, engaged in rampant corruption, and is killing Americans. And that is unacceptable to me and it should be unacceptable to all of us.”
