See CB is a journalist with a strong moral compass, knows how to respond to the media, and is making sensible social and democratic points about equity, cost of living, and corruption in politics in his comedic manifestos. If the only way these positions cut through is to do them from a satirical standpoint, then the media needs to take a look at itself in terms of who it platforms and what messages it sends the public about what is a lie, what is true, what is well evidenced.

Making water bosses swim in rivers they have caused to be polluted is a genuinely arresting and fair policy about personal accountability!

Well that's simply not true. Nigel Farage pretty much retired into the background after Brexit had been accomplished, thinking his job was done. Then he CHOSE to resurface and stand for election because he wasn't happy with the way the government was badly managing things post-Brexit. He came back into life as an MP fully prepared to lead Reform and ultimately the country if asked to. I hardly think you can compare him to Binface in that respect.

Nigel Farage has done fuck all to show he takes the job of representing Clacton as their elected MP seriously.

Obviously he'll collect the paycheck, expenses and subsidised meals and drinks.

But he despises the people of Clacton in a way that only conmen can despise people stupid enough to fall for their patter (see also Trump, D)

Clacton without Nigel Farage as MP will be the same as it was with Nigel Farage as MP. Even more so, since he chose to artificially limit the length of his parliamentary career.

The "joke" candidate e.g. Monster Raving Loony doesn't normally win. If the "joke" candidate wins that causes reflection on why. In this case the result could make or break Reform which is no joke - changing the course of the Reform party and the landscape of future elections.

Eh? I am saying I would want people who stand to be MPs in my constituency to genuinely want the job because they want to serve in the best interests of the local electorate . Not sure why that’s against liberal democracy .

Strangely in this election the bin has the advantage of appealing to people that are "fed up of the lot of them" in terms of politicians. That's an advantage over any of the main political parties as it's how a lot of people feel - so instead of people not voting (where they can be accused of beingblazy/not bothered) they can make their feelings heard voting for the bin.

The golden thread of liberal democracy (there are many, but I change the main one depending on the argument) is that what is not forbidden is permitted

What is going on in Clacton - however people may feel about it - isn't breaking any rules (unlike Nigel Farage).

And - for what good it was doing them (we are still waiting for a single constituent to provide details of a single issue that Nigel Farage has engaged with as Member of Parliament for Clacton) they had an MP. Nigel Farage. And the only reason they currently do not have an MP is because he resigned.

They once said all roads lead to Rome. It would be fair to say that in this case all frauds lead to Nigel.
