Hands up who just looked up themselves. 😀🙋‍♀️

What do you put in to AI to get that kind of response? I am clearly a nobody because I asked Gemini and it didn't have a clue!

£43.00 quid!
one of my favourite places in Europe placemats we started going when the dc’s were young & now with my dd & dgds since they were babies it’s has a lovely peaceful vibe.

The newest placemats I have are from my mum. She never used them and so when she died, I brought them to my home.

Menorca certainly has chill vibes. My mum also loved Ibiza and I enjoyed Mallorca. Special islands x

"Mumsnet users frequently discuss placemats, with the general consensus being to look for durable, easy-to-wipe-clean options like melamine, chunky wooden veneers, or cork-backed designs. For elegant options, the brand Pimpernel is heavily recommended for hardboard, heat-resistant mats."

Oh 😳

😂

Mine was 5 paragraphs about the ways in which pikachu might be discussed on mumsnet. First time I've ever used Gemini. It's obviously a fucking idiot.

PickAChew · 12/07/2026 20:54

Oh, there you go, I went via a Google search then told it to read the fucking text.this time, instead of direct (I'm using an android phone)

It looks like you are looking for PickAChew, a well-known, long-standing user on Mumsnet, frequently seen in the Video Games Chat and regional North East threads.
She is particularly famous in the Mumsnet community for her involvement in the early Pokémon Go Mumsnet threads, where she occasionally created thread titles and discussed catching tips. Outside of gaming, she often posts about sewing and crafts.

Thanks I just tried that and first it gave me a long list of my posts, and then it just explained what Mumsnet is to me!

dontcallmelen · 12/07/2026 21:09

Gemini musings on me, frequently found on conversational threads active for many years frequents S&B/Telly addicts/home decoration, thoughtful sensitive advice with posters dealing with MH/anxiety issues no mention of being a lefty or thankfully my appalling Spag.

It learns quickly. Here's a well known classic it appears to know about. It highlighted that Farage would hate the idea of being a hero in a book by Dumas, and that casting him as a count would serve to give him a chance against his rival Binface.

I may have made some of that up.

How about this for performative opportunism? They went all the way to Devon for this.

Fucking ghouls.

I tried my username on Gemini and it told me that I'm a small typo. Story of my life really lol.

Someone please tell mumsnet, Farage et al. It's bloody awful

Police: speculation during Widdecombe murder investigation is ‘unhelpful and distressing’ https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/jul/12/police-speculation-during-widdecombe-investigation-is-unhelpful-and-distressing?CMP=share_btn_urly

There are people defending Farage spouting crap, defending the Mail etc. publishing information the police haven't yet released and endless speculation. Mnhq seems to not care one jot.

I am sure they are very genuine and didn't realise there would be photographers around.

I'm reminded of what the ladies in waiting purportedly said after the execution of Anne Boleyn. Paraphrasing: let no man handle her body.

Evenstar · 12/07/2026 23:06

@TemperanceWest their old friend Dan Wootton will probably turn up next 😂

I did this user name and hit a blank, my other username threw up:

a long-time, active user and poster on Mumsnet, known for offering supportive, practical advice across parenting, education, and lifestyle discussions.

That's nice then.

According to Sky they waited until all the press was present and then offered to do it again for B roll. That says everything about their sincerity and motives. And what it says isn't flattering.

BIWI · 13/07/2026 08:26

Well apparently I'm a mod!

On Mumsnet, BIWI is a highly respected, long-standing user and moderator known for running the popular Low Carb Bootcamp (LCBC) threads. If you are looking for advice on weight loss, keto, or low-carb diets, she is the community's go-to expert.

... and AI knows nothing about where else I post!

dontcallmelen · 12/07/2026 19:50

Are you currently in Menorca biwi we are going week after next such a lovely island.

Yes we are! Staying in S'Algar, which is a quiet place. Off to Mahon later today but sadly coming home on Thursday.
