I've just finished the last of the tub in freezer, Mackie's Raspberry Ripple.
I'd give it 7/10.

What is your favourite please?

Are you near Glasgow? My in laws love colpis 😍

Yes. Just outside Glasgow. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Your in laws have great taste. It is so light and refreshing.

Lidl "posh range" do a really nice tub of chocolate orange ice cream, it's so good!

I also like the co op best vanilla with double cream.

And B&J cookie dough.

Also, does anyone remember when Magnum did those ones that were strawberry ice cream covered in their white chocolate?? They were amazing but haven't seen them for years 😥

FoxandDuck · 05/07/2026 22:00

Waitrose used to do a lime & coconut which was amazing
M&S do (or did - haven’t been into one for ages) a lemon ice cream (rather than a sorbet) and the contrast between the sour lemon and creaminess was divine
My current favourite is a Sainsbury’s iced latte ice lolly. I’m also a huge fan of a mini twister

Jude’s plant based mint chocolate

Swedish glace raspberry

Any of the booja-booja ones

I absolutely agree with this!

Oh, plus the Judes vegan salted caramel choc ice lollies…

Years ago, mid 1980s, Lyons Maid did an amazing Peach Melba ice cream. I've searched for something similar but alas nothing.

YES!!!! I used to get a scoop of this from the local sweet shop as a kid as often as I could twist someone's arm as we weren't well off (far from it). Bloody gorgeous. And there's been nothing remotely like it since.

parachutegirl · 05/07/2026 22:12

Salcombe dairy banoffee (they sell it in tubs in Devon, not sure how widely available it is tho)

minipie · 05/07/2026 22:13

Hackney Gelato Roasted Hazelnut & Chocolate
Waitrose No 1 White Chocolate- got little flakes of chocolate through it which reminds me of Viennetta

Waitrose currently has a peach Melba!

Lidl do a fantastic Belgian chocolate ice cream. Dangerously creamy and rich.

Also love Haagen Dazs Strawberries and cream (NOT strawberry shortcake) but don't see it often.

Taylor’s of Biggar

We had a stomp around Mugdock park last week then went to Colpis - DH had lemon cheesecake ice cream and DD went traditional Stracciatella.

Haagen Dazs pralines and cream. Very very dangerous stuff😆

Yes this! But it’s never on offer 😫

Bangersndmash · 05/07/2026 22:27

hackneys finest gelato on Ocado. The banoffee one is the best ice cream I’ve ever eaten (shop brought).

PinkCatCushion · 05/07/2026 22:28

Anything from Jude’s but my favourite is Cherries and Cream.

Ahwig · 05/07/2026 22:30

Ben and Jerrys Cherry Garcia

Crispstoday · 05/07/2026 21:05

Jude's rum and raisin. So delicious and very hard to not eat the whole tub in one go.

That is true actually. Maybe I’ll change to this my number 1.

Doddington’s . Any of them. And their blackcurrant sorbet is out of this world . I think only available in Northumberland. Their cheese is brilliant too and available on mail order.

closely followed by the ewe’s milk ice cream you can get at the hut in Downham ( Ribble Valley)

Milngavie for us, wonder how far Colpi’s reaches!

SkippitySkoppity · 05/07/2026 22:33

Häagen-Dazs Macadamia Nut Brittle

Häagen-Dazs Strawberries and Cream

SENsupportplease · 05/07/2026 22:35

Might need to go visit in-laws now with pp description

NormasArse · 05/07/2026 22:35

Notriannis in Blackpool. You can buy tubs of it from them, but we live 20 miles away, so it would melt.

Its the only reason we go into Blackpool at all!

ShipshapeShore · 05/07/2026 22:38

Ahwig · 05/07/2026 22:30

Ben and Jerrys Cherry Garcia

I've not seen this for years, I thought they retired it. Where can you buy it?

DogAnxiety · 05/07/2026 22:39

I am particular about my ice cream.

Will only buy:

Kelly’s Clotted Cream
Jude’s salted caramel (original - the vegan is a travesty and is neither salted nor caramel-flavoured, it’s a bog standard toffee sweet flavoured meh ice cream IMHO!)

I used to love Green and Black’s Chocolate Orange Ice Cream but they don’t sell it any more :(

I would pay a lot of money for a high quality chilli chocolate ice cream, or a ginger and lime one, but no-one local to me makes it.

You can’t get a good pistachio one from the supermarket either.

I was SO disappointed by Hackney Gelato. The tub was so pretty. The contents were so poor, flavour and texture- wise.

TheLaughOfRustyLee · 05/07/2026 22:44

The Magnum Billionaire Double Gold Caramel was very tasty this week 😋
