I've just finished the last of the tub in freezer, Mackie's Raspberry Ripple.
I'd give it 7/10.

What is your favourite please?

Hagen dazs vanilla. Delicious and upf free. Amazing with fresh strawberries.

Solasum · 05/07/2026 19:26

Hackney gelato salted chocolate

Catsservant · 05/07/2026 19:41

Supermarket ice cream is mackies raspberry ripple
but my favourite is Cheshire dairy farm strawberry and chocolate, the lemon one is nice as well.

Nutmuncher · 05/07/2026 19:44

Cheapo and Basic AF but Ben & Jerrys Phish Food is impeccable, 15 minutes out of the freezer. I could demolish the tub quite easily so I never have it in.

Namechangefordaughterevasion · 05/07/2026 19:44

I just had a box of Mini Milks delivered in my Ocado shop. HEAVEN!!

Just putting it out there but given your preferences have you tried b&j half baked? It's the chocolate fudge brownie and cookie dough swirled in the same tub

Yes, I don’t see it as often though weirdly ?
I had Brookies and cream the other day as that was on offer and neither of the other 2 were lol,
i find lots of them similar tbh , and the only one I’m not keen on is the one with marshmallows , can’t recall the name

Olderbutt · 05/07/2026 19:59

I really don't rate Mackies ice cream but others seem to love it. Kelly's Cornish Ice cream is fabulous and readily available. We have a local Ice Cream, Bennetts, which you can buy from their farm and other local farm shops in large tubs for your own freezer. It's also available in local theatres and attractions and it's wonderful, all the flavours are gorgeous.

Years ago, mid 1980s, Lyons Maid did an amazing Peach Melba ice cream. I've searched for something similar but alas nothing.

princesspadam · 05/07/2026 20:56

100% Joes

it has that old school creamy taste that you used to get off the ice cream man in the 70s/80s

Judes; cherries and cream, rum and raisin (better than Haagen Dazs r &r), Siclian lemon.
Haagen Dazs; mango and raspberry, Belgian choc (nice with added single cream).
Kelly's raspberry ripple!
Kulfi Ice Cream - Tesco have it, Asda sometimes too.
Waitrose own Mascarpone and Sicilian lemon, and their Belgian dark chocolate and sour cherry.
I bloody love ice cream! 😂

Good evening Temporarily, and your chosen specialised subject is .....
Ice cream
😀

Haagen Dazs pralines and cream. Very very dangerous stuff😆

Agreed

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 05/07/2026 21:04

Aldi Cornish clotted cream ❤️

Crispstoday · 05/07/2026 21:05

Jude's rum and raisin. So delicious and very hard to not eat the whole tub in one go.

IlovePostitnotes · 05/07/2026 21:09

Has anyone seen tutti-frutti in the supermarkets? I haven't in years! Would love it if it was brought back!

JuliaBraverman · 05/07/2026 21:09

Mossstitch · 05/07/2026 19:17

All things haagen dasz for me, only one outside an Italian gelato😋😋😋

Same

IGotHam · 05/07/2026 21:10

Hackney Gelato chocolate and hazelnut. I make my own ice cream because I’m a fussy fucker and IMO Hackney Gelato is the closest to homemade. Jude’s a close second, particularly their coffee one

Okiedokie123 · 05/07/2026 21:11

Mackies vanilla. Or homemade.

thunderclouds76 · 05/07/2026 21:17

IKEA cherry ice cream /gelato that you buy at the food outlet is amazing. But have never found it to buy in a tub

SENsupportplease · 05/07/2026 21:19

Cheshire ice cream farm lemon curd

Cheapo?! B&J the other day was £5.70 …
I must be a tight arse coz that’s quite expensive to me , although I still buy it ( but only when it’s on offer at £3.75 😜 )

MagnoliaTreeBlossom · 05/07/2026 18:40

Mackies vanilla is my go to supermarket brand but my favourite is Colpi! A delicious traditional Italian ice-cream made locally and sold in some nearby shops and in their ice-cream parlour. 🍦🍦🍦

Are you near Glasgow? My in laws love colpis 😍

TheUniversalsHere · 05/07/2026 21:26

Aldi chocolate brownie in a tub the same size as the haagen daz ones. It has a brown lid (two others in the range are purple and orange). About £2. I am a chocoholic and I think that one is the best. Haagen daz strawberry cheesecake when on offer. My kids love Mackies

FTBregret · 05/07/2026 21:53

Hackney Gelato clotted cream & strawberry!!

I used to really like the Haagen Dazs strawberries and cream one but the Hackney Gelato one is much better. I’m fussy about ice cream

Btw OP seeing your thread made me splurge on it this eve 😂 costs me £6.50 at near by corner shop (cheaper at supermarkets but my local Tesco and Sainsbury’s sadly don’t always stock it)

Gengha · 05/07/2026 21:54

Kelly’s clotted cream and clotted cream raspberry ripple

Takingtigermountainbystrategy · 05/07/2026 21:57

JustLookAround · 05/07/2026 19:00

Jude’s plant based mint chocolate

Swedish glace raspberry

Any of the booja-booja ones

Agree with all of these. M and S soya vanilla is pretty good too especially with a small cup
Of espresso poured over it. . Have you tried Ben and Jerrys plant based? I didn't like it at all, thought it was way too.sweet.
