Current situation with the greens

''The Greens were the only party to have confirmed they wanted to oppose him but discussions were continuing in the local party on Tuesday night about whether to stand a candidate.''

BIWI · 07/07/2026 20:32

i'm really looking forward to the results of the gazillion opinion polls that will be being conducted this evening!

They’ll really, really piss off everyone if they stand someone.
Edit: would confirm Polanski as a rather poor student politician.

Agree. And not a very good one at that!

PickAChew · 07/07/2026 21:31

This is not the circumstances for the Greens to try their non-existent chances, FFS.

Dunny on the Wold, Dish and Dishonesty, Blackadder the Third comes to mind. Rip the wonderful Vincent Hanna.

ETA Just knew that one day I'd see it in real life.

DuncinToffee · 07/07/2026 21:46

More on Cottrell, this time it's Tice

There’s going to be an avalanche of these, isn’t there?

countrygirl99 · 07/07/2026 21:53

Hopefully

DuncinToffee · 07/07/2026 22:00

Tice is also reported to the NCA

So both Farage and Tice?

Oh, that would be sweet.

Efacsen · 07/07/2026 22:14

So no Russian 'hacking'

Just NCA leaking bank statements to the Guardian

They're not very good at keeping the story straight, are they?

placemats · 07/07/2026 22:20

As said before, lies require good memories.

dapsnotplimsolls · 07/07/2026 22:24

It was for security, no, reward for Brexit, no, just a personal gift etc etc. FFS.

PickAChew · 07/07/2026 22:56

Bent as a holdall full of nine bob notes

BestIsWest · 07/07/2026 23:01

Greens not standing now either.

DuncinToffee · 07/07/2026 23:04

That’s good news @BestIsWest
I’m up your way next week with a rescue pup. The home has been donated a week 8n a holiday cottage above Three Cliffs Bay and I’ve been given the opportunity. Taking this lovely boy, all being well.

Oh what a sweetie. Our old neighbours have one with odd eyes, like that. Mad as a box of frogs but does the best lean ever. It brought tears to my eyes when he first did that as not only did it mean he'd learned that I was probably a trustworthy human, it was the first hug of any sort I'd had in months.

Greens not standing now either.

I'm glad they’ve done the right thing, though they certainly took their time to decide! It really has backfired on Farage, hopefully he’s now toast politically.

That really is a gorgeous puppy, @cardibach. ❤️

Cheguevarahamster · Yesterday 02:23

Good job Greens.

So it looks as if it be the joke candidate in Clacton against Count Bin face.

Lovely puppy @cardibach

MsJinks · Yesterday 06:10

Out most of yesterday - missed announcement and all the posts!

I first picked up on it around 6ish and read Greens were going to field a candidate and Tories/Restore weren’t. So pleased that’s changed and only Count Binface is the face of the establishment.

But what if Farage had stood against a more mainstream candidate and lost - would he have gone full on Trump Jan 6?

He looks a proper muppet now - what on earth possessed him to do this - I actually tend to think he wished to leave but his paymasters told him they still need a return.

And wtaf is accusing the NCA of leaks about - I’d not really understood the level of unfashionable Farage and Tice operate under!
