Midlands - our underfloor heating thermostat is saying 34! It only reads 19/20 when it’s working!

Hatty65 · 25/06/2026 19:11

Pleasant.

Don't know exactly but it's a Victorian house and nice and cool in heat like this.

nannyl · 25/06/2026 19:11

30 outside
28.3 upstairs
not got a thermometer downstairs but i guess about 26, as its cooler than upstairs

My aga is on full so the kitchen is always hot!!!

BeardySchnauzer · 25/06/2026 19:11

Wrong thread! But very hot here with a nice breeze at least in London

emnetstrozzapreti · 25/06/2026 19:12

18 in my flat. I'm in Edinburgh, and there's a haar. 👌

coronafiona · 25/06/2026 19:14

30 downstairs. Upstairs is like the centre of the sun

PissedOffAndHot · 25/06/2026 19:16

26.5 downstairs. Upstairs is boiling. But have portable AC in my bedroom. Had to have it on all night. Did wake up shivering 😲. Might get one for DS if we get many more weeks like this.

I'm in East Sussex. Preying for a storm. Still over 30 outside 😡

Nannyfannybanny · 25/06/2026 19:17

SE UK, 36c inside,35c out but in the sun..lots of threads on here's, saying we shouldn't complain or compare 1976. I was a working mum,2 kids, nursing in an old Victorian hospital, boiling in summer, freezing in winter. 15 consecutive days of over 32c, however, the severe draught lasted 15 months. There was no water,it was turned off,you queued in the road at a standpipe. I also remember 1959. Very high temperatures,my late DM walking about indoors in her underwear. I did actually come outside to try and sleep,at 2.30 am , I felt really rough, came outside with a sun lounger. I'm pottering now, deadheading plants, watering greenhouses.

SometimesTheIntrusiveThoughtsWin · 25/06/2026 19:18

Oven roast. Main problem at the moment is that the patio is too hot to stand on and the dog has her paws crossed.

Skyglimmer · 25/06/2026 19:27

It is currently 33 in our house. I had an awful night's sleep last night 🥵

Sweepyed · 25/06/2026 19:29

33 upstairs SW

MrsLFii · 25/06/2026 19:31

30 downstairs, 32 upstairs. Just about as south west in the south west as you can be. Hideous for the kids (1 and 4) and not much better for me… I just hosed myself down as well while watering the flowerbeds and greenhouse this evening 😂 it was reasonably breezy earlier in the day but it’s completely dropped now, alas, and no sign of these promised thunderstorms either. Outrageous, according to 4yo.

CheeseWisely · 25/06/2026 19:33

It’s been 39 degrees here today and currently still 30. The warmest rooms in our house are 24 at the moment, the lounge which is north facing and doesn’t get any direct sun during the day is about 21 I’d say. We’re very lucky.

Imicola · 25/06/2026 19:34

25 here, also Glasgow. There is a nice breeze now which will help.
Sympathies with everyone in hotter areas. Hoping the heat breaks soon

Scaryspicer · 25/06/2026 19:34

Currently 31 downstairs in living room, 34 in the bedrooms upstairs.
also currently breastfeeding a sweaty baby who wants to contact nap on me and who Im trying everything to keep cool! 🥵🔥

FreebieWallopFridge · 25/06/2026 19:34

30 downstairs
will be about 35 upstairs

angerelle · 25/06/2026 19:35

According to our Ecowitt weather station it's 29.1 outside, 29.4 inside, and I think it's about 28 in the room I'm sitting in in front of a fan! I'm watching Lightning Maps and hoping for rain! The outdoors is cooling quicker than the indoors at the moment (every window and door is open!)

Sagedragon · 25/06/2026 19:35

29.4 in the living room, and 30, 30 + 32 in the bedrooms 🥵

No one should have to work in any kitchens without air con

Summersongroses · 25/06/2026 19:36

33 upstairs. 30 downstairs and it was an unbelievable 50 degrees in my polytunnel at 3pm. It might have been higher in my polytunnel but the thermometer only goes up to 50!!! My tomatoes were not happy but have since recovered.

Fatiguedwithlife · 25/06/2026 19:36

20.3°C in the kitchen. About 23 upstairs I think. Feels chilly. Yorkshire coast (sea fret here all day 🙄)
