I honestly think sometimes people have an agenda on here about ADHD and want to discredit it as much as possible. I don't see half as many threads on autism or on other ND conditions.
The fact is and this has been touted by many charities and professionals, it is underdiagnosed, at least in part for women my age and last time I looked, only accounted for 4% of the population. Women are under diagnosed due to the presentation of our neurodivergence.
I don't receive any PIP or anything for my ADHD. I aren't even on meds as I choose to manage it my own way. Don't get it wrong, I struggle a lot but I do things my own way.
My diagnosis has eff all to do with other people and their opinions mean jack all. I couldn't care less if someone thought my diagnosis is an excuse for things. My diagnosis was backed up by old school reports, a neurologist letter and reports from people who know me.
To the uneducated posters who spout out absolute crap that everyone has ADHD now, your self important opinions are not facts, they are only your feelings. Actual facts hold sway. It only seems like that because people have made it more common knowledge and people talk about it more. That is not a bad thing.
Try putting yourself in someone else's shoes before you decide to be judgemental. It is not a trend to me, this is my life. And you haven't lived my life or been inside my brain to even truly understand any of it. If I could create a machine that could show you how it felt I would immediately. If I could be normal, I would immediately. You have zero idea.
Remember, just because it is not immediately visable to you, does not mean it doesn't exist.
This ADHD bashing on here has got to stop. It is cruel and it is ridiculously abelist.
