Should men remove body hair?

Benny91 · 21/06/2026 15:52

As most of the people I know (men) have removed all the body hair including on the legs.

I however, have a hairy chest, back, under arms, and legs. Is that ok?

Is it a trend nowadays to be a hairless man?

what are your thoughts?

Remove it, don't remove it, your body, your choice.

SusanSHelit · 21/06/2026 18:36

Keep your facial hair from curling into your mouth but otherwise it's your body do whatever you like with the hair that it grows, this also applies to women.

I for preference keep my armpits mostly hairless because I prefer stick antiperspirant and that seems to work better with less hair. The rest of it gets mostly ignored, especially in the winter

Edited to add if I had lots of hair on my bum I'd probably lean towards removing that because I don't like the idea of poo getting stuck to it. I work in health care and have had to trim a few poo cacked pubes in my time, not pleasant for anyone involved

You don’t have a leave it the fuck alone option. I assume you are reasonably young? It’s up to you. Leave it or don’t. My ex used to get rid of his. My partner now wouldn’t dream of doing that. I prefer men to leave it alone if asked my preference - unless you are Robin Williams, I prefer men to hairless creatures.

You dont have a keep all body hair option, which is what I'd choose

Me too.

Belladog1 · 21/06/2026 18:40

Love a hairy man 😊

My partner manscapes everywhere. But he leaves his legs and arms alone. He occasionally leaves his chest alone so I can snuggle into it in winter

OP not been back?

To quote Monty Python, WE’RE ALL INDIVIDUALS. I’m not.

Do what you want, let women do what they want too.

VerityUnreasonble · 21/06/2026 19:01

Are you a / do you happen to hang out with a bunch of competitive swimmers / cyclists / wrestlers?

DeltaVariant · 21/06/2026 19:03

same as for women … if they want to do it then ofc they can

whippersnapper55 · 21/06/2026 19:05

I couldn't care less what other people do with their body hair!

mondaytosunday · 21/06/2026 19:06

My son is 22. He’s got all his body hair! My DH never removed any body hair and looking at the men wandering around in shorts these days hair is evident.

thelongesday · 21/06/2026 19:59

The only place where men remove all body hair is porn surely. Step away from the porn and you'll realise most men have some body hair.

smallchange · 21/06/2026 20:02

God, not for me. I like a hairy man and can't think of anything less attractive than body stubble and ingrown hair spots.

MyThreeWords · 21/06/2026 20:04

No option for doing whatever you fancy on a particular day?

I mean, personally I find it a bit horrible to think of men removing any body hair, but I'd hate it if any men felt policed about it one way or another, just as I hate the similar pressures on women.

Your follicles, your call!

PermanentTemporary · 21/06/2026 20:10

Whatever you want.

I finally have a partner with a hairy chest. It’s a major part of why I want to rip his clothes off on a regular basis.

I personally dislike huge or long straggly beards, or a vast pubic cloud, but that’s just me.

nocoolnamesleft · 21/06/2026 20:12

The only men who should be forced to remove body hair are those who insist that women remove theirs.

CarbonArtist · 21/06/2026 20:14

Don't remove it, it’s masculine and sexy.

Fiftyandnotsonifty · 21/06/2026 20:14

I’m not keen on excessive hair on men, I find it a big turn off. A little hair on the chest, stomach area is fine, but if the back and chest resembles a rug 🤮🤮🤮 it’s a hard pass. I also like the genital area to be neatly trimmed and balls shaved. I can’t say I’ve ever met a man with very hairy legs though 🤔

JustSetFireToIt · 21/06/2026 20:17

Er, where is the option to keep all body hair, because that's what I prefer.

Natural is best unless you resemble a gorilla.

Waitingfordoggo · 21/06/2026 20:20

😂 @ ‘vast pubic cloud’ @PermanentTemporary

ItWasntMyFault · 21/06/2026 16:02

If you have hair sprouting out your nose or ears then please remove it - otherwise I don’t think most women really care.

That's my once every four weeks at the barbers.
Ears flamed,nasal wax,eye brows trimmed.
See other men with tufts growing out of them🤮

Didimum · 21/06/2026 16:00

Their choice. Doesn’t matter what others think.

The only thing that matters when asking what others think, is what others think.

Didimum · 21/06/2026 21:14

nevernotmaybe · 21/06/2026 20:53

The only thing that matters when asking what others think, is what others think.

Then frame it as ‘do you prefer men’s body hair … etc’, not ‘should men …’.

There is no ‘should’ with these questions, regardless of whether someone likes to ask them or not.
