Just a bit of fun! Feel free to join.

I’ll give 5 facts about where I live and see if anyone guesses the right answer.

  1. 15 minutes from an airport
  2. Lots of pubs/charity shops
  3. 30 mins from inner city
  4. Very white British/little diversity
  5. Pork pies!

Here's my clues:

Cathedral
Race course
A well known hospital for the wrong reasons
Zoo

Chester

MrsMoastyToasty · 20/06/2026 17:14

Bristol is correct. Although these days I live between Bristol and Bath.
I could have said "Romans; Aquae Sulis, American Museum" and I think everyone would have got that quickly too.

The river was named after the town, not the other way around.

It was the birthplace of a controversial 19th century colonialist.

Its railway station and St Michael's Church appeared in a version of Hergé's 'Tintin and the Black Isle' which was re-drawn to include real British places (unlike the original).

Alice Roberts's 'Digging for Britain' featured it when significant Roman remains were found on Stane Street.

It has a Norman motte-and-bailey castle remnant.
