Florida

19 and threatening rain on the weather app here in Yorkshire where I am. The highest it will get Wednesday / Thursday is 35 but will feel like 40 it says. I feel sorry for anyone down south as it's going to be even worse that way on.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/06/2026 20:14

High of 17 here in NE Scotland today, grey and drizzly.

SerendipityCat · 22/06/2026 20:19

A mere 27 degrees here on the Sefton coast. Very humid, but light rain is forecast for later, with the temperature dropping to 19. Hooray!

RaininSummer · 22/06/2026 20:35

It's 22 degrees apparently now in my house but I am actually cold. I think it's because the air feels so damp as it rained earlier despite the clammy heat.

Middlemarch123 · 22/06/2026 20:38

Just perfect in Norwich today, visiting friends. 25 with a cool breeze. Just arrived home to North Norfolk coast, and it’s 22 and a bit cloudy. Wednesday is supposed to be high thirties, so I’ll walk the dogs early morning and late evening. I have six to walk, but one is on his holiday! So I’ll let the spaniel and lab have a splash in the sea, which they love, and the grumpy pugs might venture into the garden if I put their cool mats on their sun loungers ( yes, really) x

Bloody hell

That's awful!

We were charged 54 euro from euro star to just beyond nortr dam.
It was a proper taxi etc .
All others gave us stupid quotes for short journeys. .
Such a shame the London black cab isn't replicated in other cities

GeorginaWilby · 22/06/2026 20:50

85 degrees F, which is 29.4 C. It's not too bad for mid-June. AC is on.
The real nasty stuff is coming though. I'm dreading it when it gets to upper 90's and into the 100's. I have a deathly fear of wildfires. I'm in a western state, U.S.

MaidOfSteel · 22/06/2026 21:13

It’s 19C here and cloudy. Rained for most of the day, too. No heatwave in my part of western Scotland. Not even a hint of sunshine. Well fed up.

BigJanette · 22/06/2026 21:13

24°C now and it's just started to rain!
We've left all the doors and windows open (apart from the velux)
It feels so refreshing!

The temperature for the rest of this week where I am is just horrible.
I can’t wait for it to just burn itself out and go down a lot. Bring back the rain.

garlictwist · 22/06/2026 21:26

I'm in West Yorkshire, don't know the temperature but I'd say warm rather than hot. When the sun came out from the clouds it felt hot but I was wearing my jumper when I sat outside at lunch.

Taytocrisps · 22/06/2026 21:40

19 degrees at present (9.30 p.m.) here in Ireland. There's a yellow temperature warning for the next few days, with temperatures expected to exceed 27°.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/06/2026 21:41

It’s not gone over 25° here today (south east England). Currently 20°.

Zanatdy · 22/06/2026 22:05

Can never trust the car temp, especially when just turned ignition on. I’m in South East and was under 30 today. Maybe 28-29 max.

NoraLuka · 22/06/2026 22:12

40–41 here and it’s going to stay like that until Thursday, staying at around 23 overnight. Central Brittany in north west France.

We’re known for our rain and grey skies ffs! I get heatstroke really easily so I’ve been careful with drinking water, hats and all the rest of it and have unexpectedly felt fine all day. Even went for a walk this evening once it went down to 35 😁

Iliketulips · 22/06/2026 22:23

It's 25.2c inside downstairs and exactly the same outside. Upstairs 26.9c.

40c forecast here on Thursday, so I dread think what it'll be inside then.

BigJanette · 23/06/2026 12:11

It was 18°C at 7am and drizzly.
Now it's 30°C and feels like an oven.

I hope our continental MNs are managing to cope with the 40°C + temps.

29⁰ here. Westest bit of England. 34⁰ by 5pm.

RaraRachael · 23/06/2026 12:51

It's lovely here today 24 degrees in NE Scotland. Hot enough for me.

Rural France, Orange warning zone not Red...

Just gone through 40C, got stuff done outside early AM, not doing much now but doing OK.

Can't begin to imagine what it's like in places like Paris (though I see ATM Orly is "only" 36C and Roissy CDG is a surprisingly cool 29C .)

BigJanette · 23/06/2026 13:32

How far are you from the capital @notimagain ?
Are the local schools closed in your area?
Glad to hear you're doing OK!

A Long long way south (Toulouse ish)..

AFAIK being orange area means schools open but can't swear to it.

SadiraOfTyr · 23/06/2026 14:04

Just measured with a calibrated thermocouple (I get to play with them as part of my job). 29C outdoors, in the shade obviously, which is fine. Unfortunately it is also 29C in my office, which is not so fine.

BatchCookBabe · 23/06/2026 14:07

I agree that the car temperature will always show as 3-5 degrees C higher than it is when it's been sitting in the sun, so the temperature would have been more like 28-29C when you took that photo @BigJanette

It's 31C here right now (West Mids) but I guarantee if I go and switch the ignition on, on the car now, it will be 34-35C.

It was 4 days ago (when you posted the picture.) It's probably is in the mid 30s now!
