You've just started your car which means your car has been stationary and the reading is not accurate for several reason: the temperature sensor is right in front of the radiator so if you have already driven today it will have warmed up considerably as soon as you stopped driving. It will also have warmed up if you were parked out of the shade.

I bet it dropped considerably (probably to around 29-30) once you had driven for a bit.

29 - and no shade in the garden at this time of day so I’ve just hung some washing out and come back inside as it’s too hot to sit out

23 and revolting here in the NE as it keeps bloody raining. It's giving me a bad 'eed.

Its currently 22 here in Gosport but I'm right in the waterfront so probably a bit warmer inland, today is nothing compared to Monday and Tuesday apparently.

31 in the south east - feels lovely in my living room but the garden is miserably hot - ice in the freezer for cocktails, steak and salad in the fridge...it can only get better (cooler!)
