Whats on the menu?

It’s been a long week and I get the feeling that DTeens and DH all need a spot of TLC (whereas I’m absolutely fine having had a day off and actually wet myself laughing in a tennis match this morning.)

I’ve just put pulled chicken in the oven to have a good five hours. With (bought) flatbreads, a sort-of Middle Eastern salad and herby labneh. Then homemade lemon ice cream (time will tell…) with berries and toasted almonds. And cupcakes from the local bakery for those that want one. There’s also a bottle of Chablis I’d been saving for an emergency.

Can’t wait! Please humour me with your dinner plans.

Pork chops with apple sauce, boiled baby potatoes, broccoli and peas.

BBQ! It’s sunny and our first Friday with no sport training/parties for DCs and lifts needed in forever so making the most of it! Also DS1s last ever day of college today as he’s now on study leave so end of an era…….
We've got venison loin, pork chops and DH is making a minced lamb rolled flatbread type thing and I’ve done a couple of fancy salads. Just about to open some nice cold wine and play cards like we’re on holiday.

Fish and chips with mushy peas. White bread and butter for chip butties. Cider.

Tuna and sweet potato fishcakes, roasted veg and coleslaw

Beef stew, with mash, carrots, peas and cabbage. Then rice pudding.

I don't know what we're having for dinner yet. DH is going to the supermarket on his way home from work, so I'll find out in due course.

Currently in Spain.
Tonight we will be having chicken with tarragon and mushrooms and cream and spinach with fried baby potatoes.
Tragically I don't eat fish. Our town is a fishing port

Basa fillet marinated in sweet chilli sauce and a Caesar salad.

Fish. Always (nearly) fish on Fridays.
With salad, homemade coleslaw and tater tots.

Basa fillets cost 3 quid for 2 and bass fillets are 7. Basa are actually much nicer than bass.

Pepperoni pizza & garlic bread for DS, veggie chilli for me.

Homemade chicken soup with pearl barley and vegetables in it

Home made chicken tikka in flatbread, with salad ,coleslaw, mango chutney and raita and maybe some corn on the cob too.

Lorraine Pascale chilli con carne.

Steak ciabatta

Getting a takeaway from the peri-peri place around the corner from our house. Pizza for eldest, chips and cheese for youngest (basically what they order from any takeaway apart from Chinese) and shredded medium chicken on salad for me.

Baked potatoes with cheese. Bad week, we are both knackered.

going to my sisters in a bit, neither of us really drink but we do like a chat over a takeaway - I’ll have a selection of sides/starters as I’m on WLI and she’ll have a vindaloo, rice, garlic naan and share some of my stuff. poppadoms too 😋
