@PrincessDonutTheQueenAnneChonk Ah I see

A print of a heritage site I volunteer at. From my son!

A corkscrew that has a tube part plus a foil cutter as part of the tube that you put over the bottle neck. Then just turn the top key to the spiral, one way. The cork is twisted up the spiral inside the tube with no force. I had it for my 18th and am now several decades older, has always worked amazingly.

bamboo toast tongs - great cheap gift, used all the time.

posh French soap lemon or rose

balsamic vinegar

This is going to sound so naff but I think some people will understand it - I can't get a keyring with my name on. My sister got me one for Christmas one year

ToadRage · 03/09/2026 10:48

Heated blanket, back scratcher, bag of buttons.

caringcarer · 03/09/2026 10:52

My 6 year old DS made me a scooby with a difficult snake pattern he took a long time to master. Then he made me a sparkly one to go on to my keys. I had it for 30 years and then it finally broke and I was upset.

trailerT · 03/09/2026 11:05

A mug tree that still had pride of place in every kitchen I have had over the last 30 years, after my then 2 year old son grabbed it off a shelf in a shop ,and made his Dad buy it for me for Xmas .

KStockHERO · 03/09/2026 11:07

For my 40th, DH bought me about 10 good bulbs of good quality garlic.

Honestly life changing 😂

Edited to add: He bought me other stuff too! It was life changing because supermarket garlic is absolutely shit and cooking was actually getting to be quite miserable using it.

A personalised drawing from my favourite singer 😊

Oh I know that feeling 🙂
A few years I ago I got my daughter a colouring book with her name on.
My matching one had "They Never Have My Name" on it 😂

Fridge magnet

IdiotCat · 03/09/2026 11:56

A rechargeable LED dressing table mirror from DH! So useful. It folds down too so it packs easily. I take it everywhere -- staying with relatives, budget hotel nights, holidays etc.

Means I can do my make-up, put on earrings etc. with a well-lit mirror wherever I am.
I find hotels are rubbish at lighting and mirrors. And trying to apply in the bathroom is like an annoying game of Jenga, balancing products on skimpy shelving.
The light-up mirror is a game-changer.

A bookmark that had a sentimental design on it. It was handmade. I lost it a few years ago unfortunately.

Do you have to pay taxes if you're ordering from US?

Try a website based in the UK (you know the one I mean but I don't want to promote it.)

I’ve looked and I can’t tell why they are different from any other Sloane type headband?

They're a different shape. Normal headbands are rounded and hug your head. Those Zazzy bands are squared at the top with corners, so if you use them to push your hair back, they give the same shape to your hair as pushing your hair back with sunglasses would - which is different to the shape you get with an ordinary headband.

Every1ElseInKnowsley · 04/09/2026 11:06

@LongTallTally ,forgot to say they're called 'curly hair headbands' on there (about £5 for 2). Try a local shop that sells things for curly/afro-caribbean type hair if you prefer to shop locally.

fatphalange · 04/09/2026 11:06

I’m always thrilled with socks and mugs 😂 if I suggest them when asked for gift ideas I always get ‘oh come on what do you really want’ reactions 🤷🏻‍♀️

I actually found a UK website that sells the originals and sent off for a couple yesterday. I'll report back when they arrive! Not £5 for 2 though...

Some nice textured pens from Amazon really helps my adhd brain to focus
padded wrap around eye mask for sleep- I love it
Turtle dove gloves

AtlasPine · 04/09/2026 11:28

Silk pillowcase - so nice to sleep on
small one cup water bottle which fits in my foldie
a single cup tea infuser - decent tea for one
hori knife - use it literally every time I’m gardening
a vintage hand held trug. Perfect for carrying veggies back from the allotment
As a child I adored a tiny curled up porcelain kitten in a real wicker cat basket. I adored it but it got lost somewhere between houses. Have never managed to find the same on on eBay but will never stop looking.

So - they arrived. They do give my hair a brilliant shape, are super comfortable, sit securely and are lightweight. I feel like the actual band looks a bit odd though - the two square angles just sit slightly proud of my head, which I think might look a bit odd. .

They do solve the issue of having shortish curly hair falling over my face, clipped back with barrettes which feels a bit odd at my age, or under an Alice band which also feels a bit age inappropriate. So I feel like they have promise, but not 100% convinced yet. I'll see how I feel after a prolonged wear. Thanks for the suggestion though, it's a really interesting design.

A Birra Moretti Christmas tree bauble, from a friend in the drinks industry. Beautiful and unique.
