Cups. We'd cope easily if about 50 people turned up for a cuppa all at once.

ainsleysanob · 05/04/2026 18:28

About £15000 pounds worth of Lego - no joke.
Dust, particularly on the Lego.
Toiletries that are supposed to, but don’t, make me look a hundred years younger.
Love.
Swear words
Laughter.

Lego

Only 2 kids but they seem to have a disproportionate amount of the above!

JustbrotherscarlenaNsoul · 05/04/2026 18:47

Books and dvds

Ahwig · 05/04/2026 18:54

Maps, my husband collects them . I’ve told him if he dies first, they are going in the coffin with him.

HippyChickMama · 05/04/2026 19:02

Cat hair, two house cats that are currently moulting

Lego

DVDs/Blu Rays, I like old folk horror and anthologies and they are rarely available for streaming

Text books, I’m an academic doing a doctorate and ds is doing an undergraduate degree that involves very old books that aren’t available electronically and he’s currently home for the holidays

unsync · 05/04/2026 19:28

Everything. There's stuff here that belonged to my great grandparents. You name it, it's probably in here somewhere, in triplicate.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 05/04/2026 19:28

Elephants. I used to collect them years ago but people still buy them for me. They are in every room. I've given loads away over the tears, but still have too many

MondeoFan · 05/04/2026 19:28

Dust. Coats. Sandals. Towels - hundreds of bloody towels

Allseeingallknowing · 05/04/2026 19:29

At least he’ll see where he’s going!

You need some pigs!

Oh gosh, my DGS would love that!

Sartre · 05/04/2026 19:53

Books. I’m an American Lit lecturer so everyone has to deal with it. They’re everywhere.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 05/04/2026 20:06

Books, yarn, knitting and sewing things, ingredient items (the kind where even Jamie Oliver would have issues making a meal out of some tinned fruit, tabasco sauce and rice wine), and an abnormal amount of waterproof clothing (I work outside, and with animals, so I'm rarely clean and dry otherwise!). Oh, and soap. I buy bars of soap in boxes of 18, so at least I can wash!

allthenamesitriedweretaken · 05/04/2026 20:06

OldGothsFadeToGrey · 05/04/2026 20:51

Hot wheels, spices, odd socks, violet liqueurs (took a while to find the right one and as I can’t bring myself to throw anything away the other bottles will live in the cupboard forever.

zurigo · 05/04/2026 20:53

Loo rolls. Since the pandemic DH is determined to keep a stockpile of the damn things <sigh>
