AI destroying the internet ?

Just me or does it seem like any source of social media now is totally flooded with fake AI rubbish, literally 80% of what I see now looks fake. It’s destroying the internet, I want to remove myself from everything but same time it’s hard to, for simple things like using Facebook market place, asking for recs for companies, looking at local pages to see what is happening. I want to just cut off everything else.

does anyone else feel like weve just entered this awful stage where you don’t know what to believe any more ?

I agree it is, but I do feel this is a sorely-needed wake-up call for those who are glued to social media, specifically the ones who are chronically-online and the doom-scrollers alike. Put your phone down/step away from the computer and go outside. Besides, the weather is glorious today.

I think LLMs like ChatGPT are better used to replace search engines because they are useful as long as you ask the right questions.

My DH has used it only for generating scripts he'd otherwise have written on his own in a few days. So a few days shaved down to a couple of hours. He can therefore get more done and his productivity is making much more money.

The problem is people are using it to write out CVs, essays, job advertisements etc, so it is destroying a lot of stuff because people don't understand what it means to be efficient.

It’s making me bored of the internet too. It’s as if it thinks we’re all stupid and don’t get me started on the fake photos and videos. I hate it and critical thinking is becoming as extinct as the dinosaurs.
