I get tissues from Naked Paper but the boxes are so ugly! They are rectangular rather than square, please share your nice tissue box covers with me.

Oh OP, I have no idea why some posters are being so catty. It's a bit pathetic!

Surely one of the kits of Mumsnet is that, while people can share deep trauma and get advice and solace, one can also post the household trivia that makes up day to day life!

I myself have poates many such threads - I remember one about how much shake'n'vac normal people use. Also one about whether people put a pasta floor on their lasagne. I found the answers to both helpful, kind and enlightening.

I don't use tissues often enough to need a cover for the box. But if I did, I would definitely like a nice one. And I am not especially house-proud.

AnneOfCrimsonGables · 07/03/2026 01:12

I’m don’t mind naked tissue boxes so don’t have a tissue box cover; but if I were to ever get one, I quite like this one.

horseplay12 · 07/03/2026 01:20

Life is too short, surely!
one step away from the toilet roll dolls!!!!

Another display of MN madness, who has tissues on view? is a tissue box offensive? Dislike of rectangular tissue boxes?
OP you bought that brand knowing what they looked like, odd to complain about the box.
Oh for this to be a worry worth spending your time being upset over

I hope you’ve now read all of OPs posts and feel ashamed of your mean comments.

OP is not worrying over this.. it’s a gentle thread. They do exist on here from time to time!

FFS get a grip, she’s not upset she’s just asking for some shopping / interior design inspo! Do you have nothing decorative in your home? No pictures on the wall or scatter cushions?

I don’t. But I am ridiculously picky about which tissues I buy. I have to like the box. I wander down the tissue aisle whether I need tissues or not so I can buy them whenever I see a box pattern I find sufficiently tasteful. I can’t believe I have admitted to this. I have certainly never confessed to this bit of lunacy in real life.

I do this too! 😆😆
But now I’ve discovered the existence of tissue box covers I will now be joining the OP on a hunt for one for my tissues!

swapsicles · 07/03/2026 07:51

I saw one once in Dunelm but never picked it up, it was a wooden house and the tissues came out the chimney like smoke.
Much more interesting than the boxes they come in.
And I admit the same as a pp as when I'm shopping I often peruse the tissue aisle to find a pattern that I actually like 😂

No because I have a life

FlatErica · 07/03/2026 07:59

I don’t even have a tissue box! I just go and get loo roll and then flush it or bin it afterwards.

Do people actually keep tissue boxes out in full view???????

Actually I don’t think I’ve ever bought a box of tissues ever, so I never had this conundrum of displaying in a proper manner, so maybe, yes, there might be a world of tissue boxes out there trying to hide from human eyes.

😂yup, on top of the sky box, for all to see/use

You enjoy your life and ugly tissues. I’ll enjoy my life with my non ugly tissues. Win win! 😘

I don’t actually use tissues. I always use a handkerchief

I apologise, note to self, in order to have a life must use handkerchief not tissues. Got it! Thanks! 😁

You can’t possibly have a life if you thought it necessary to come on here and tell us that.

Skibunnygal · 07/03/2026 09:32

I have been looking for something to put tissues in for ages! Friends have lovely fabric ones, bought years ago on honeymoon and I adore them. Made with rich fabric & have tassels. Very opulent.

Place marking in case anyone posts a link to an irresistible option!

I have a square cover with a sea shell on it, a present from an ex. It lives on my bedroom window sill.

Is the tissue box the reason he’s an ex?

AmusedDuck · 07/03/2026 09:40

I have this one from Next.
Really pleased with it.

Do you have a nice tissue box cover?
boynamesneeded · 07/03/2026 09:48

I was actually thinking about this last night while I tried to pull a tissue out of the little cube box thing next to my child’s bed with one hand. The box is so light I couldn’t pull the tissue out. I was thinking perhaps it needs some sort of weightier cover type thing 😅

OvernightBloats · 07/03/2026 09:59

I never knew tissue covers existed until this thread! There are some really nice ones posted on here. It almost makes me want to buy a box of tissues so I can get a cover! I use handkerchiefs though.

Could see this being a really pretty touch for a guest room - box of tissues on the bedside table in a tissue cover which matches the decor.

I use toilet rolls as tissues. I must be in need of a hybrid cover 😂

You need to get one of those knitted doll toilet roll covers 😆 🤣.

I was on amazon looking at toilet roll covers...there are some cool ones, i want the sheep 🐑 😀

ShoAndSew · 07/03/2026 11:32

it is a pity that Brexit happened (I'm not in UK) because i had thought about having a side hustle of sewing things out of reclaimed fabric and selling them. But i can't ship to UK so.

in my spare room, which is an office room too, i have a tissue box covered in fabric that has quotes from famous novels in it, the sofa(bed) has cushions in patchwork, some of which is other book-related fabric. My sewing room has a tissue box cover with sewing related printed fabric. 😎

ETA: my spare loo rolls are in cupboards in the toilets, but there are spare ones out in a fabric box/basket thing in case a guest doesn't know where to look. I also have some of the IKEA grass woven boxes with things in that people might need - i have lined them with fabric that coordinates with the bathroom decor.

Am going to assume that many of the pp here think that's naff. I DGAF and indeed by boho bathroom decor is often complimented.

Yes, such a terribly busy & thrilling one that you have time to read & comment on threads that you have absolutely no interest in. 🤣
