I get tissues from Naked Paper but the boxes are so ugly! They are rectangular rather than square, please share your nice tissue box covers with me.

This is one of those threads that's a contender for 'only on Mumsnet'

I genuinely had no idea that such a thing even existed, and it would never occur to me to use one. My plain white box of cheapo tissues is as naked as the day I bought it from Lidl.

And no, I don’t put knitted covers on loo rolls, either.

This is mine. It doesn't go over a tissue box. You open the tissue box from the bottom and put the tissues into it.

I don’t. But I am ridiculously picky about which tissues I buy. I have to like the box. I wander down the tissue aisle whether I need tissues or not so I can buy them whenever I see a box pattern I find sufficiently tasteful. I can’t believe I have admitted to this. I have certainly never confessed to this bit of lunacy in real life.

I bloody hope so. I mean I think in the real world people have better things to do.

Ved · 06/03/2026 22:06

Not the exact one, but someone bought my brother one of these for his birthday last week.

A tissue box in the shape and style of The Borg Cube from Star Trek Smile I think it's fab!

Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for @Malinia Grin

The Rubiks Cube one is pretty cool @ItsStillWork Smile

That’s mean. There’s no need to have lots of decorative things, but if people want to where’s the harm?

Do people actually keep tissue boxes out in full view???????

Actually I don’t think I’ve ever bought a box of tissues ever, so I never had this conundrum of displaying in a proper manner, so maybe, yes, there might be a world of tissue boxes out there trying to hide from human eyes.

What is wrong with keeping tissue boxes out in full view? Should they be hidden away?
I don't understand why they should be covered either it seems very fussy like fluffy toilet seats and knitted dolls to hide toilet rolls.

Pricesandvices · 06/03/2026 21:45

Um, no. It seems weird and old fashioned. Boxes of tissues aren't offensive items.

I never said they were, I said the boxes are ugly, they are brown with big black writing on

Would you like a saucer of milk?

Incredibly, I'm able to look after my disabled child and dying mother AND want my house to look nice at the same time. Maybe I'm just better at managing multiple things than you.

Interesting, quality and ply are the important things for allergy snifflers like me.
