Does anyone have a table in their shower?

We have a new, walk-in shower. I love it but... I have to walk out to get my glasses to go back and clean the glass down. So I'm thinking I need like a mini coffee table that's waterproof and can stand in the far corner of the shower. A "shower table" is clearly a useless search term as is a coffee table as it needs to be water/rust proof.

Anyone else have this dilemma? What do you use?

Won't this be a bit pointless?

Presumably your glasses will steam up if you keep them in the shower cubicle, so you'll have to walk out to let them clear before going back in anyway.

Method do a passionfruit screen spray which repels water. Smells lovely but I haven't tried it yet.

We have a big wooden bench along one side of our wetroom, everything gets stored on it - shampoos, showergels, mop bucket, mop, random other buckets...

I put up an extension rod and then a triple hanging basket in mine.

Say what? I take my glasses off and put them on the window sill. Have a shower, put them on and clean.

Why would you want some plastic nasty things in your shower. That then becomes something else to clean, will gather soap scum etc, don't ruin the look of your shower which you seem to be proud of. I too have a walk in shower, lm as blind as a bat, but l know where the shower gel, shampoo & conditioner are, on the floor...Dry yourself off, put on your specs & go back in to clean the glass etc..Done this for years ....

Plastic stool you need

Problem with showers (we get this in holiday lets, drives me mad) no where to put stuff. I have glasses, I have soap, I have shampoo and conditioner. Unless it goes on the floor theres no where for it

Unfortunately, places with nowhere to put anything in the actual shower cubicle often have lack of shelving in the bathroom itself. When away, l often have to balance a toilet bag on the loo cistern and have my make up bag on the floor as bedroom lighting is completely wrong to do makeup.

Get a shower spray you don’t have to rinse off - mines in the corner of the shower in the floor, plus we have a shampoo etc holder drilled in to the wall.

Freysimo · 09/03/2026 07:27

Have a look at SimpleHuman stuff. It's expensive but rust proof. We got a portable shelf unit for walk in shower 7 years ago and it still looks good.

Francestein · 09/03/2026 07:33

I have a shower chair. Was very sick last year and passing out all the time. It’s now a very ugly but effective shelf.

Lemondrizzle4A · 09/03/2026 08:53

We have these. Hansgrohe around £40 mark. They screw in.

Yes same here, no thought has gone into bathroom design at all.

Why don't you get something you can stick on to the tiles/wall like a soap tray/shower caddy/toothbrush mug specifically for putting your glasses in? Much more practical than a table. Confused

We had a caddy installed when we had our shower fitted.

Isn’t that why toilet seats have lids? 🤣

Or just put your glasses on the bath mat, and you can bend down and pick them up when you need them.

With my attention span this would lead to a crunching noise when I leave the shower!

But then you’d need “looking for glasses” glasses. 🤓

Buscobel · 09/03/2026 11:19

I always clean the shower with a microfibre cloth before I leave it. Then it gets a going over with a window vac regularly.

Jane143 · 09/03/2026 11:44

Why do u need to clean it while in there? Can’t you shower and dry yourself and put on glasses after. Be kind to yourself and pamper yourself before worrying about the bloody shower screen!

We have a shower tidy that stands in a corner with an expandable central pole that jams it between the shower base and the ceiling, with several curved shelves along the height of the pole for shampoo, etc.

Something like this
kegii telescopic shower caddy

Thought that would be a link, this one was on Amazon, once you know they exist there are lots around, ours was a bit tricky as we have high ceilings, got ours from Costco.

Edit: Ours is quite attractive stainless steel and modern looking, some are a bit plasticky.
