I watched a video earlier where Lt General Mark Hertling was discussing the Kegsbreath press conference. There was a moment were he took a box off his desk and said he keeps it there always. It was laminated photos of the 253 soldiers who were killed under his command and he said that they haunt him every day, as do their families.

It made me so sad and angry that these bozos currently in charge have absolutely zero respect for the fact they're risking lives. Have they even expressed a word of respect or sadness for the girls in the school?

But on a lighter note, Candace Owens apparently has a new series out in which she's laying out her absolutely batshit theories about Erica Kirk having had Charlie killed so she could pal around with Mossad or something.

This doesn’t read like Trump’s own work. It’s too coherent (yes, seriously) and there aren’t enough FULL CAPS and !!!!!!. It reads like someone trying to write like him. Either he wasn’t up to it or someone in his court is up to no good.

Now I am not going to argue about the school like on the "other threads". I know how propaganda works and I am ok to wait to see what the UN etc say, but that statement is her getting ready to re-define what "civilian" means.

She herself is redefining what "Propagandist" means.

Re Propaganda. A large part of it is what they do not report of course, and I am very familiar with that. It can be amusing reading state media about the Government being outraged over what someone outside said, while they won't actually report what was said. Or how they report an incident where 2 of their own ships collide while not saying there was a collision.

So when Kegsbreath did not say the name of the Iranian Naval ship that was sunk by a US sub.....

I found the ship name on US ABC-

"The vessel, identified by Sri Lanka as the IRIS Dena, had been operating in the region after participating in a multinational training exercise hosted by the Indian Navy in February, in which 74 nations, including the U.S., took part, according to U.S. Indo-Pacific Command."

That's a Frigate. A small naval ship. Usually air defence. And it had been taking part in Indian hosted Exercise Milan, alongside US ships. Subs take part in the exercise too. I see a UK Independent article claiming it is an offensive ship etc, but that is blocked. I can't get a much about exercise Milan either, India is on the naughty list.

Some speculation

The Frigate and the sub were on the same exercise. If so, I think that is rather duplicitous ( if that word fits). Doing Naval exercises together one week, the next week it's sinking time.

The other bit of info I can find is a maritime site, where the suspicion is that the sub is out of Diego Garcia. If so, then that is a hmmmm thing.

It will come out eventually, when the sub is named as Trump hands out the medals. The navel internet sleuths will be on it.

Anyway, I reckon the sinking, with 100 dead sailors, is pure propaganda. The periscope vid for the evening news etc A victory for the US.

Personally, I do not think they had to sink it. It's a long way to Iran about ( 2500 miles), and I would have thought capture would have been the thing. Unless it was setting off to attack local shipping of course.

It was an act of war for sure though. Maybe the US Congress don't know that.

Anyway, I am in no way defending the Iranian Regime here. I just find it odd that such a good Christian such as Kegsbreath kills 100 sailors for the sake of a bit of video byte propaganda. It would have been him that ordered it. Or Trump.

Yes, it might have been intending to strike random ships. But this could also be shooting without yelling "hands up". The lack of narrative from the WH makes me suspect the latter.

Aside from the laughter emoji, I would love a “grrrrr” one too (not as in Tony the Frosties Tiger). As it is, I’ll just have to make do with an “Archers" one (the sign of the Bull).

Good morning from Cyprus, where it is mostly business as usual (nothing much gets done, loudly). I’m in contact with friends who are in the UAE and have decided to stop being a drama queen about Cyprus, people in the Emirates have it far worse than we do here, with sleepless nights waiting for the bomb to drop. Also, one of my friends in England has contacted me to see how we’re doing, so I’m feeling a bit better about that!

Greek (as in from Greece, not Cyprus) tv news this morning is laughing, saying that Sir Keir Starmer has pushed back the departure of the RN warship due to come to the defence of Cyprus till next week, as he doesn’t want to put it in harm’s way.

I know of people who are stuck in Dubai right now - there was a big race meeting on Saturday with loads of international horses/jockeys who, along with the staff that travelled out to look after them, have been stuck. Some of the staff have opted to sleep at the stables as they’d rather be with their charges than worry about the risks of travelling to and from the stables.

When the horses are shipped they travel with enough feed for their trip, so lots of horses that were due to fly home on Monday have run out. The staff and resident stable yards are sharing feed so no one is going short, but horses have a very delicate digestive system so switching feed needs to be done very carefully or risk serious problems like colic, which can be fatal.

Very first world problems I know, but it’s another angle to the story.

I’m also hearing that Sheikh Mohammed organised a flight on Tuesday to get some of the horses and staff out of the country, so the no fly rules only seem to apply to some 😜

To be fair to the Sheikh, as I understand it, he and about 30 of his entourage went to have a meal and a stroll through the Dubai Mall on Monday evening, to reassure residents of their safety. Also, I reckon he will always put horses before people.
