Have you ever had the passionate

... getting in the door, kissing and throwing yourselves up against walls as clothes fly off towards a moment of passion or is that only what happens in the movies? 😆

Lighthearted obviously but I do wonder if this happens in real life, especially on dating first "intimate" encounters or is more the reality of awkwardly undressing and being embarrassed at everything possible 🤔 😅

Yes.
With DH the first time we were alone in a bedroom together (hotel).

It was the 2nd time we'd had sex (first was in a car 2 days earlier 😳) and we walked into the room, flicked the big light on, glanced around the room for about 3 seconds ... then he looked at me and that was that. I was backed up against the wardrobe and we went at it like animals. For ages. Light still on i had no awareness of anything in the world except him and his body and what he was doing to mine.

We left that room the next morning in tatters ! We'd been at it all night. Our lips were puffed up from hours of snogging i had bruised inner thighs and he was limping from overused groin pains 🤣 It was bloody amazing 😍

Think I was in the hotel room next door... 😉

DeftGoldHedgehog · 20/02/2026 02:22

Yes, I have had that experience. In the long term though other things are far more important.

Giggorata · 20/02/2026 02:39

Yes, with a few men, most notably with DH.
DH and I met up a few years after we'd first got together and parted, went out for a night and then back to his for coffee… and whoosh! It was intense.

PithyViewer · 20/02/2026 03:11

I've had that quite a lot. Maybe not necessarily falling in the door and taking off clothes in the way you suggest, but lots of passionate encounters including ripping each other's clothes off. In fact, one eager man tore my knickers right off in one movement. 🤭

Disturbia81 · 20/02/2026 03:24

Yes it first happened mid 40s and is still happening with him! Before that I just thought it was a movie thing as none of my friends had experienced it either.
It’s a shared look, burning lust between both people. It has to be equal lust and attraction. Whereas with other men I’ve been with, they’ve always probably had more attraction to me and/or not being as sexual as a man.

Yes, a couple of times. Both with guys I actually couldn't stand generally but had great chemistry with. I always found the douchebags were best in bed unfortunately.

There is definitely truth in this for me. The deeper the mental connection, the less lusty they are and the least chemistry. And less talented in bed. I feel like the ones who are best at sex are the ones who had to make up for their lack of depth. Same as sporty people at school threw themselves into that as they couldn’t do anything academic. Or people who grow up feeling physically unattractive develop better personalities. It’s just a generalisation, I know sexual men with intelligence and depth exist, but they are rare. If you have one you are lucky!

Partly why I stay single and just have fwb as I won’t settle for less chemistry or mediocre sex now.

whatisforteamum · 20/02/2026 06:56

Yes.If you build the sexual tension in your mind it's unreal.
I remember once having to finish our drinks quickly and get out of there.
Another time too many clothes were removed in the car.
Not classy I agree. At least it was pitch black.
Sometimes the lust takes over.
I smile about it now with zero sex drive at 59.🤣

Sally2791 · 20/02/2026 07:05

Oh yes. Delicious memories!

RobinTheCavewoman · 20/02/2026 07:21

Yes. Those were the days!

CatherinedeBourgh · 20/02/2026 07:24

Yes, many times with dh.

Not so much now in our 50s...

Yeah not so easy to do with ED..

Lennonjingles · 20/02/2026 07:59

Does up against a red phone box count, some 40 plus years later, phone box is still there, still go past it occasionally, how nobody didn’t walk past and see, luckily we were behind. We had been to the cinema by bus and guy was walking me home and I suppose he thought now or never.

ProfessorBinturong · 20/02/2026 08:38

Absolutely. First date with my current DP we only made it 2 steps inside his front door before the clothes came off. Thirty years on we generally prefer a bed these days, but the odd sudden pounce still occurs.

Previous long-term partner as well. No red phone boxes, but there was a church porch ....

My experience has been quite the opposite of Disturbia's, fortunately.

Nannyfannybanny · 20/02/2026 08:47

Yes, with my now DH been together 36 years, but there was a time factor to consider!!!!

Timeshavechangedcertainly · 20/02/2026 08:57

No, I've had spontaneous, passionate quickies but not as aggressive as they show on tv, slammed into walls and ripped clothes. Etc

That’s great, you found a unicorn! 🖤

ProfessorBinturong · 20/02/2026 09:27

I found 2 unicorns!

Sorry for hogging one of them, but I did send the first back out into circulation (although he didn't circulate far - snapped up by a close friend).

kshaw · 20/02/2026 09:29

i have - but not until i was 39 and last guy i was with but also got it with my current fella - its amazing, its not every time obviously but its such a nice feeling to feel wanted (after a crap marriage even better!)

SleepingStandingUp · 20/02/2026 09:37

I think we were both too awkward but there was a guy I met on a night out and we literally couldn't sit next to each other without making our. He had issues around sex so we never actually dtd which is sad cos I think it would have been amazing but the electricity between us was insane and definitely worthy of a movie moment 😂

MrsM2025 · 20/02/2026 09:48

I had this on the second date of the guy I’m seeing - it was wild! And we’re both mid 50s !!

smallsilvercloud · 20/02/2026 09:56

Never for a first encounter or first date, takes me a while.
However I did have a ex boyfriend turn up unexpectedly once and it was exactly like that soon as he got through the door! I’ve been married before and never fancied him that much so for me it’s rare.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 20/02/2026 10:00

Oh yes. One was with a man who was completely unsuitable (he bitched about people in the pub) but sexual chemistry was strong. Also have this with my current boyfriend but it’s not immensely chemical if that makes sense, it is chemical and intense though. Definitely brightens my day/night.

Spaghettion · 20/02/2026 10:01

Yes with a guy I seeing for around 3 months in my twenties, he was gorgeous.
And me and my now husband were like this at the beginning, now he just struts out of the bathroom and declares.. Fancy a game of hide the sausage.

Fiftyandme · 20/02/2026 10:04

Yup. I’ve had it. Hot as hell.

InLoveWithAI · 20/02/2026 10:11

Yes. In the throws of this now. (Not this exact second) It's incredible 😍
