Is anyone else struggling after going down Epstein files rabbit hole

I feel so upset and disturbed. I didn't want to see and read the things I have but I just couldn't look away from the horror. I think part of me was hoping to come across something that says it's all fake news. It's all exaggerated and made up. But it isn't is it? It's probably not even the half of it.

Perhaps very naively, I thought the files "just" involved girls of 14/15 being trafficked among all the other corruption. I had no idea how much more there was. The horrors that have come to pass and no doubt are still are still happening while these monsters remain shielded by their money and power.

Is anyone else really struggling with what they've seen and learnt over the last few days? And any advice to try and move forwards now, because ultimately I can't change this and my mental health was already fragile (thanks menopause). I need to keep on going for my own DC. I'm angry and so, so sad that humans are capable of this.

My Instagram is meant to be funny reels about dogs and menopause but now I'm being fed more and more about Epstein. I know it's the algorithm effect because I've watched similar content but now I need it to stop. I've logged out for the time being. Might not go back. I don't think our brains are meant to able to deal with all this.

I think the people who can't comprehend that things like this go on, are very privileged. Some of us have to live with the horror each and every day. Not everyone gets away with their life either. Whatever you think might have happened, it'll be far worse than you can imagine. Just be thankful it's not you. Go back to watching kittens on youtube.

I just want to say..i understand the horror... I survived my childhood by believing that the wider world was somehow better than the world I came from where children were abused sexually by those around them...I preserved my faith in humanity by believing the abuse I suffered (by my father and others) was an aberration...

but....I can no longer hold onto this belief....and quite honestly it has destroyed me...I don't know how to continue knowing that what I went through was simply 'normal' and that those around turned a blind eye to advance their own ambitions... I want you to know you are not alone...I feel despair and utter loneliness...

I find it hard to believe some of the e-mail headers I have seen. They are from 2010, so patchy wifi, smartphones not widespread etc. There are a couple in an exchange, the first had a timestamp of 11:14 pm and the reply to it was 11:15 or 11:16pm. How is that possible?

Household internet speeds in the U.S were about 5Mbps, and that is plenty fast enough for an e mail to be downloaded close to instantly.

And these people were able to access the best technology had to offer. 2010 wasn’t the dark ages!

I haven't looked at all the rabbit hole stuff because I can't stomach that kind of thing. I know it's easy to fake things on AI and there will be all sorts of claims to validate decades old conspiracy theories of super dark stuff.

But I feel instinctively that from the little I know that's been reported on the BBC that everything is icky, yuk and all the rest of it and that I don't need to hear any more.

The super rich treat us like cattle, many theorists have been saying this for years. It's disturbing that it's been proven.

It also makes you think how the Royal family feels about us, the rabble.

It's saddening and very human to get drawn into this story. Get some distance, do something else, get into something else. Be thankful your career isn't to comb over these millions of emails like all the journalists involved in the story.

I probably commented on here already but there are many videos on youtube made by investigating journalists so you don't have to dig there yourself. I listened to quite few on 3 different languages , made by media all over the world

Yes I am feeling sick at everything I read / find out. And then if you talk to anyone about it you sound mad because it’s so much worse than what is being reported on tv / radio / newspapers.

It’s like the most far fetched conspiracy theories but real.

The people trafficking, the paedophilia, the disdain for people seen as objects, less than human, and the links to governments, the media barely mentioning the links to Israel and MOSAD.

The files are all searchable through the DOJ website and someone has even done a site called JMail, which has formatted all the emails as if you are looking at his own inbox.

So many people may see it as either a sex scandal, or get an inkling about how bad it is but it’s too big to comprehend, or read a bit & feel sick.

Well in my opinion you should feel sick! Anyone reading it and having a physical reaction, congratulations - you have humanity!

It’s all just absolutely abhorrent. Just finished the Epstein documentary on Netflix (from 2020 I know but it’s only just now trending, which says a lot!)…and I can’t believe the extent and the magnitude of the whole thing.

A huge paedophile/trafficking ring with so many influential people involved. Why isn’t anyone else in prison bar Maxwell?! Why hasn’t Prince Andrew been arrested? Why hasn’t Bill Clinton been arrested? What does it take for these men to get their day in court?

I have a 14 year old daughter and whilst grown up in some ways, she’s also so young and innocent in others. The thought of her being sexually abused in this way at her age is just horrific.

I can’t believe the scale of the cover up and how even now it’s still being covered up!

This. Social media is not reliable a lot of the time, yes. But these are posts with links to DOJ emails and the content of them is beyond what any of us could have imagined.

It’s fine if you want to blindly tell yourself it’s all fake news, but these are actual victim statements or perpetrator emails/admissions. I believe they have released them in this way (huge amounts of shocking content) in the hope that the majority will be so overwhelmed they just don’t believe it. It’s clearly working and is exactly why these men will get away with it all.

I’m sorry OP, I don’t have any advice. As you can probably tell, I’m in the trenches with it myself. I did delete Instagram today as I recognise this over consumption is not healthy.

Yes I tried to talk to my husband about the emails I’d read and thought how much of a nutter I sounded! I’ve never believed a conspiracy theory in my life, but I am looking at the world in a completely different way.

I haven't particularly searched, not been suggested anything on Instagram, YouTube or FB. But, someone I follow on Bluesky, with a big following, decided last night to post a series of photos. Very, very unsettling.

I avoid all of it and stick to main news sites. I learnt my lesson when Ian Watkins had been convicted and I went down an internet rabbit hole of details about his crimes. That was years ago and I’m still sometimes haunted by what I read. Lesson learnt- I still go down rabbit holes online but only nice ones.

Can we be sure that the links are genuine? There’s a lot of content on X but I’m not sure how real any of
that is? Does anyone have a link they can share with me please that I can 100% trust is genuine Epstein files content?

Some of the content on X seems so far fetched…eating humans, killing babies, the ‘pizza gate’ conspiracy of years back actually being real etc.

Sorry I just googled DOJ website and then clicked the ‘I’m over 18’ button and I’m in. I just searched for Donald Trump related files and the 5th or 6th one down is horrific! About him sexually abusing a 13 year old. Is this definitely true? On X there’s been talk of falsifications?

US Congressmen who have viewed the non-redacted files have said there is legitimate evidence of victims as young as 9. Regardless of whether they were 9 or 19 though these women and girls were trafficked and abused by men who will never be held accountable. The level of depravity in the files that I’ve read on the DOJ website is stomach churning and that’s what they felt safe to release.

Sadly I've been aware of all this kind of stuff for years. And sadder still this kind of thing and worse happens here in the UK too. And that is really a rabbit hole you don't want to go down. Nothing shocks or surprises me any more, but that's not to say it still doesn't affect me.
I've followed a lady for the last 15+ years who was a victim of RSA since she was a small child. And you wouldn't believe the kind of things she's been through or who she's been trafficked to, to be abused. And these people have status and the money to keep things behind closed doors.
Every other post on FB now is about Epstien. I just scroll past now or it tends to consume me. Some rabbit holes are best stayed away from.

Virginia was a ‘woman’ when she was abused and some of what she describes in her book is absolutely horrendous. Particularly the behaviour of the minister that she describes.

The files also regularly refer to torture, regardless of the context that’s absolutely digesting.

Falsified by who? Trump’s DOJ? If it’s been falsified by them to serve their dear leader you think they would have made him look less like a rampant paedophile in them.

Pizza gate was so called because paedophiles apparently use Cheese Pizza/Pizza as a euphemism for CP. Therefore emails from people like Hilary Clinton etc discussing pizza were theorised to be euphamisms and also comet pizza a front... Which is quite literal - pizza is a euphemism for CSA therefore a CSE ring would have a pizza place as it's headquarters.
It is true that pizza is someta euphanism, QAnon didn't invent that. The problem is, its also a very common type of food. And people use pizza to mean pizza. The Clinton's are dodgy as anything however and people are right to be suspicious.

So I think the vindicated thing came from the fact that some of the Epstein emails appeared to be using pizza as a euphemism for something else and QAnon had said pizza is.used as a euphemism for something else. But that doesn't mean it always means that..Even paedophiles eat pizza/order snacks. In the files there are references to pizza/snacks that probably are just about food. Which is almost worse because it's so casual-you have men discussing abuse and then saying "don't forget X likes his snacks". It's vile. But it's easy to do a text search of the files for the word "pizza" and when you get hits say "ah QAnon vindicated". But that's not how finding out stuff works.
