Is anyone else struggling after going down Epstein files rabbit hole

I feel so upset and disturbed. I didn't want to see and read the things I have but I just couldn't look away from the horror. I think part of me was hoping to come across something that says it's all fake news. It's all exaggerated and made up. But it isn't is it? It's probably not even the half of it.

Perhaps very naively, I thought the files "just" involved girls of 14/15 being trafficked among all the other corruption. I had no idea how much more there was. The horrors that have come to pass and no doubt are still are still happening while these monsters remain shielded by their money and power.

Is anyone else really struggling with what they've seen and learnt over the last few days? And any advice to try and move forwards now, because ultimately I can't change this and my mental health was already fragile (thanks menopause). I need to keep on going for my own DC. I'm angry and so, so sad that humans are capable of this.

My Instagram is meant to be funny reels about dogs and menopause but now I'm being fed more and more about Epstein. I know it's the algorithm effect because I've watched similar content but now I need it to stop. I've logged out for the time being. Might not go back. I don't think our brains are meant to able to deal with all this.

As with all these things, the truth is more than bad enough, no one needs to invent outlandish horror stories, so I don't know why they are.

You could try verifying some of the stories on a site like snopes.com. For example, a water trapdoor has been circulated on SM as part of some ritual sacrifice thing, but is more likely to have been a door into a concrete water storage tank for use as clean water for the island.

As far as I have read, the youngest victim was 14, an adolescent, not a baby.

The reality is bad enough without believing the fake news on SM.

I haven’t looked at the actual documents, which are, apparently, searchable but I will take BBC, WSJ and Times over dodgy SM.

I'm devastated too. My father is a wonderful man: kind, caring, generous, loving. I assumed men were generally like this. I've been so blind. I've lost faith in men completely. I now see good men as the exception to the rule. It's so upsetting and mind-altering.

But there is a lot of stuff on social media which is completely fake. And the more you look at the fake stuff, the more extreme stuff you're fed.

The documents have been released by DoJ because they were legally required to release them.

As to why there haven't been any arrests? Well, who knows. Arrests may still come.

But I don't think all of the files have been released, and I don't think some will ever be released.

I agree. Why are these evil bastards not in prison? I’m so angry. Why is Reform the most popular party when they are part of it. Why is Andrew not in jail? Why did Trump get away with that ape photo of the Obamas? These people make me sick to my stomach.

Twitter makes cesspits seem fragrant. I deleted it when it started presenting me with horrific photos from warzones and animal cruelty without me ever seeking out such things.

All the stuff is available on the DoJ website for anyone to see and trawl through if they have the will and the time .

Totally agree and also would add I think what can help is feel as though you are injecting some positive energy back in the world-do something kind for someone, give a donation either money or goods to a women’s refuge, look at beautiful art either in the flesh or online, try to get out into nature to remind yourself of the beauty and wonder in the world. There are lots of things to do. We’d all go mad if we just listened to the bad stuff, I feel your pain. I hate all the details we hear of murder and hate, and it’s a trap that’s easy to fall into. OP, the stuff you've mentioned is fake, that's why it's not getting reported in the proper media. I see on Twitter there's someone saying all the files have just been released, and the images you mention are from that account. But it's not true that everything has just been released. Don't worry, it's just someone playing silly buggers. This is why you should stick with reputable media. Twitter is the wild west.

I would be very very surprised if they were genuinely in the DOJ release and the guardian for eg wasn’t reporting on them.

I dread to think what Twitter is like now, I shut my account a while ago as it had become a really unpleasant site since Musk bought it. I am on Instagram and have noticed some absolutely mental stuff on there about the fiies which I scroll quickly by. I am a survivor of sexual abuse in my family and two attacks one when I was early 20's and one much later in life. I have a diagnosis of CPTSD as a result. My heart and thoughts are with the victims. What is making me really angry is the political capital being made from the (deserved) downfall of Mandelson which never ever mentions the young girls and women who have suffered untold harm . I limit my news consumption and focus on other things, currently planning what I am going to plant in my back yard for Summer, it feels really cleansing

Yes, I too started reading the files and feel very depressed about how many people in power are implicated in this and are still being protected. There are so many names of politicians and royalty abusing their power. The girls’ stories are harrowing (baby girls being murdered) and girls being strangled and buried on Epstein’s ranch and Trump’s golf course. I really hope these evil perpetrators get convicted. I need to clear my mind and take a break and remind myself that most people are decent and have good morals.

I suggest watching old movies on YouTube or Prime. They have loads. They are very comforting even if dealing with crime. Currently watching Sherlock Holmes starring Christopher Lee.

I haven’t been offered anything. I am not on Twitter and Facebook. I am on YouTube but I only ever get offered House videos or scenic trips. My YouTube land is free from anything distasteful. I would never ever click on something nasty. However, I am never offered ‘nasty’. The only place I have seen anything about the Epstein files is on MN. There are lots of threads on here. The victims have repeatedly said they don’t want the kind of attention they are getting and it seems really wrong to go against their wishes and spread scurrilous rumours based on SM hype.

I don't go looking for it. Nothing I can do can help anyone apart from use my vote wisely etc. I am on Twitter and instagram multiple times a day and have seen nothing more upsetting that people talking about it - because I don't click on links about this the algorithm just doesn't show it to me.

I am also VERY aware that much of what has been mentioned on this thread is totally fake, created by sick fucks using AI.

Epstein and his cronies abused and used young girls. That is horrific enough, but is happening throughout the world. All we can do is keep pointing that out with revulsion and never let it become normalised. We call for the full weight of the law to be used on the perpetrators - no matter who they are - but we also have to accept the need for evidence.

There have been a number of relatively innocuous videos shown on the news. There are definitely photos and videos
