Signs you are happily middle aged!

I am slowwly coming to the realisation that I am never happier when I’m sat under my heated blanket, in a clean house with all the washing done, or drying on the heated airer (dehumidifier happiness is another add on to this tale!).

I reached a new level of personal nirvana yesterday when I made an apple crumble from scratch after an unnecessary trip to Sainsbury’s where I pootled about buying stuff, after rearranging the linen cupboard.

Younger me would have been out until 3am and have been nursing a hangover whilst eating crisps on a knackered sofa, with weeks of washing not done.

Anyone else had a personality transplant in their late 30’s/early 40’s?

To clear things up, I was not being patriarchal. I do not feel that threads which are clearly lighthearted need to have this flagged. To confirm, I am degree educated and also in a long term relationship with my heated blanket 😂

I have had only a short relationship with my heated blanket (a couple of months), but it was love on first date and I can see us being together for life now. Best and most wholesome relationship I’ve ever had. 😊

I'm late 20s but after what feels like 10 wild years I'm finally falling into this and loving it. Not middle aged but feeling it 🤣

A walk is giving me more satisfaction than socialising with the wrong people in clubs and
I'm enjoying making more use of my days than staying in bed recovering from a usually below par night out.

I love being at home and pottering about. Not bothered about going out much. Can now admit I can’t abide small talk so avoid the let’s have a coffee acquaintances.
Early to bed.

Well this is exciting part - it was cashmere and the stain was home made chilli-infused olive oil (so both oily and red). I didn't notice at the time as it was on the sleeve, so missed the whole "immediate action" window. After several attempts with the white wine vinegar /water dabbing concoction, I got the balance right. Ta-da! 😁

This is high drama!

I too have a wonderful relationship with my heated throw. We’ve been together for about a year and we definitely both see a long term future together.
Despite our strong bond, I’ve accepted that it will be an open relationship.
I’m not bitter.

When I make up a chicken or ham slices salad with 2 hard-boiled eggs in a pack I buy from Spar, a mug of PG Tips, then settle under the duvet with 2 hot water bottles, all cosy!

That's middle-aged to me!
